If Coffee Talk Episode 1 is about acquaintances becoming friends, then Coffee Talk Episode 2 is about getting to catch up with those friends.
Two of the new characters, Riona and Lucas fit well within the cast of coffee shop regulars, and their story arcs mesh together perfectly with the original characters. Riona's arc in particular is wonderful and reflects many real life issues as she tries to find a place for herself in the opera scene, and eventually comes to a close with the help of the barista and other regulars. Similarly, our third and final new character, Amanda's story with Silver feels organic, and her character parallels that of Neil's in the first game.
Likewise, it was lovely to see how the other characters were doing. For Silver, Lua and Baileys as well as Hyde and Gala, it felt like their stories in the first game truly come to an end in H&B, as they embark on another chapter of their lives. Jorji is another character who particularly shines in H&B, as much of the story follows a case that he's working on. Just like in the first game, H&B explores matters like politics and discrimination in a fantasy setting, and does so very well. These themes are paramount in Jorji's story, as the truth behind the case he's working on becomes more clear.
If you enjoyed Coffee Talk, you'll definitely enjoy Hibiscus and Butterfly. It's lovely to see where all the original characters are, three years forward from the first game, and it feels like homecoming. The Coffee Talk franchise is something that should be enjoyed in a cozy atmosphere, with a warm beverage at your hand.

Writing so fire, they really got me to fall in love with pixels. I was sad to read that the writer of the first game passed away, I think they contributed to an amazing piece of art, RIP.
I teared up on day 14.

Having played the second title of Coffee Talk, I can surely say that this game impressed me very much and evoked a feeling of cozyness. The characters who you know from the first part are well developed, at least we found out where the fate brought them.

This second game in the Coffee Talk franchise is more open in addressing the real world-adjacent, sociopolitical issues faced by its urban fantasy cast than the first. Yet the way in which it does so does not take away from that fantasy, nor the cosy coffee shop setting and tales of customers' lives that made the first so enjoyable. It merely serves to add intrigue to those tales and provoke thoughtful discussion. While the cast, both old and new, are as lovable as ever!

Very cute and cozy but honestly can get a bit boring after some time unless you're actually invested in whatever is going on with the characters

The story is good, just like the first game. And I would say it even is better than the first, because when the game says "you've only seen a part of the picture", even *after* the best ending... you truly have.

I don't play visual novel games often, Coffe Talk holds a special place in my heart. Immeadiately after finishing this firast game i went on to purchase this one, and it did not disappoint. The way the story unfolds before you truly feels homely and relaxing. All those characters and their dilemas are relatable and tech important life lessons. if you are considering buying this game in hopes it has the same feeling as the first part of Coffe Talk, I highly recomment you playit. Not only does it introduce new and interesting characters, it also gives closure to some unifnished stories from the first game.
Overall, this game is amazing.
