This is all only for the roguelite mode, Tusk Tales. Haven't touched the story mode yet. Most of the cards are useless, so the card shop is useless as well. You only got to pay attention to relic nodes first and foremost, followed by trinket nodes. Certain runs require specific archetype, otherwise you're going to be steamrolled by the boss. AI is pretty much brain dead. Fix this before full release, yeah? Until then, it's a negative from me.

First i will just say this game is worth the money and if you like card battles you will enjoy this game. The story mode for the characters was good and you get the ability to build up your decks and customize them to what you want. I will say the third character feels off and needs to be reworked a bit more but this game is in early access. If you are a slay the spire fan looking for something to fill that void there is a mode for that with lots of different characters and starting decks to pick from, The problem with this mode is that its to short, by the time you get your deck to where you like you might have only a few battles left before the final boss and there doesn't seem to be a endless mode yet. There is a lot here for your money. If you are on the fence about it at least buy it on sale.

With HS gutting its solo adventures via lobotomizing the bots, softlocks, and discovering powercrept cards, i've been looking for a alternative. This game, in its current state, is that alternative for me. Easy recommend if you want either something to fill that niche or a game akin to the old Pokemon TCG video games.

Extremely solid mechanics with early 2000s webcomic charm. Easily the most I've enjoyed any pick up and play digital TCG in a long time. Very well crafted story mode with designed encounters and themed decks and an extremely robust roguelike mode with a ton of deck archetypes to pick from, and am very excited for multiplayer to be added. A lot of attention has been paid to polish and style while still feeling very readable. I didn't expect to like the characters as much as I do... It's very fun the roguelike mode lets you play as all the side characters in the story.

Love this game. Love the campaign. I am a sucker for single player card games and I was happy with the amount of content on release considering what I paid. And they have been steadily adding to it. Easily in my top 3 indie games period.

Game is truly amazing, one of the best single-player card games i've played. -Has Fun Campaign -Has Interesting Decks to build -Has Great Progression with unlocks I'm shocked this game isn't as popular as it should be

I'll be honest, reviews tend to scare me away from a game, specially if I haven't tried its demo and there ain't much information of it out there. it almost made me not buy it because I was extremely discouraged from the reviews. but damn, I'll say, it was my best buy last december. Cross Blitz has charm, substance, depth, it's so much polished, so well produced, you gotta play to see it. the game has two modes, a roguelite mode named Tusk Tales, which I feel is more arcadey than roguelite, and then there's Fables, which is a story mode. Tusk Tales gives you 12 characters to play as, and each of them has a major archetype. there's a character which focus on summoning a big tough board, another that focuses on summoning your baddies to shoot cannons at the enemy's board, there are spellcasters focused on their minions dying and board and... there's so much. Tusk Tales is, honestly, one of the most well fleshed experiences I've seen on deckbuilders out there, and it's accessible too. it starts though, but you get the hang of it and it just. gets. better! Fables is where the game shines the most though. the stories are fun, it's quite Octopath, you know? where some of them appear on someone else's story and you just start to make connections here and there. there are 4 characters (so far. there's a fifth to come), and each character has 3 chapters each. it's where you're given the most freedom to try out a major archetype and their combos. I won't say much about these modes because it really comes down to experience. it's just to give you an idea. Cross Blitz is a hidden gem and I am so glad I got it instead of anything else. and that ALL in Early Access. 10/10, no doubts here.

If you liked the single player modes in games like hearthstone, eternal or legends of runeterrra you will probably enjoy this. I would not say that you will definitely like it if you want something like slay the spire though. It feels quite different and there are better deckbuilders out there in that style if that is what you are looking for. I really enjoy what they have here even in early access and i cant wait to see what else gets added.
