If you've played hotline miami and like rougelikes as well. This game is crack. Play it if you've enjoyed both.

Truly, another successful Hotline Miami-inspired game. Basically Hotline Miami's alcoholic version, heheh. A "must play" game for the Hotline Miami fans that are craving for more blood and wanting an alternative Hotline Miami esque game after playing both HM and HM2..!!! Having some crazy, pumped, and adrenaline-injecting' soundtracks, it made me wish the end credits songs were used for something bigger and more challenging enemies. But alas, the whole soundtrack is still a masterpiece, and this game's end roll credits probably is the most intense music of all games. LIKE BRO, IT GOT ME ALL HYPED UP AGAIN TO JUST READ THE CREDITS AFTER GOING THROUGH A NEVER-ENDING TORMENT OF DYING AND DYING AND MORE DYING. HAHAHA But yeah, enough with me rambling. I wish the game would add more achievements and optimize it more—the game has a lot of potential to add more than the current ones. Looking at Hotline Miami, OTXO would definitely fit having more achievements than just a mere 18. But at least the replayability is there and it's effective in a way, even after beating the game. Worth playing, worth the time with its gameplay mechanics, features, characters, bosses, arsenal weapons, and story/lore, and worth the price as well. If you are easily giving up facing trial and error countless times, then this game is not for you. (I mean, c'mon, there's a big chance you've experienced pain and suffering from Hotline Miami, and then discovering this game afterwards, you'll do just fine if that's the case. Keep playing.
Destroy the Heart.
)

Absolutely amazing gameplay. So fluid and fun while providing a challenging difficulty that ramps up as you progress on each run. The lore is interesting and the progression through unlocking new guns and collectibles is pretty fun. Soundtrack is exhilarating and really gets you in the feel of the game. The game requires a lot of practice to get decent at though. Overall though, a fantastic game that was recommended to me by a friend.

Easiest way to understand this game is to toss the gun and play with only kicks, which will progress you through many times faster. Too bad you cannot pet the dog. ;) Wow, people beating this game deserve props. Wild.

The gameplay is great, the rogue lite implementation is not, you use the same resource for permanent upgrades and upgrades that last only for the duration of the run, meaning you need to choose do you want to unlock a possible new weapon forever and tank power this run or not

The game is about 4-6 hrs; if you are already really good (i mean really good) at hotline miami 2 it's much more engaging and fair, think of like who can determine where to move and aim fast, under heavy load of fire on the later stages of the game it's much easier to aim with a laptop mouse pad, at least for me; than playing it with a controller ever did the soundtrack is really amazing, it's kinda brutal techno some could say? some of them sound really far in style, but still feel they all belong to this game (mainly some of boss fights) My favorites one goes with the name "Understatement" and "Devil's Meat Grinder" i keep replaying it for the impossible mode, since it's the closet to hotline Miami TTK (Time to kill) and is far more scary as one second can take all your health away the only downside is no modding support for the game :(

This game is hard as hell, but it's a fun challenge. Definitely makes Hotline Miami look like a breeze compared to this.

Others aren't overstating it, this really is Hotline Miami gameplay transformed into a rougelike, and just like HM it comes with a kick ass soundtrack too. It's got plenty of weapons to use, and you can even remove some of the weapons from the spawn list and turn the levels into pure pistols, shotguns, etc. if you desire. Clear levels as fast as you can for combo's that boost your coin earnings, and spend those on drinks that give you perks. Story wise you'll have to see for yourself, as it's pretty strange. Overall it's a great ride. If you really like Hotline Miami I'd just go into this blind and play through some of it. You can go through levels within minutes, and you'll have plenty of time to understand what this game is about before your refund window closes.
