Highly recommended. Some minor flaws but sill in my 10/10 range. Somewhere near Totono, Futari no Hakuoro, and Fata Morgana I guess. This is a fairly long sci-fi romance title, mixing 4 intertwining stories together, ranging from sad, bittersweet, to truly heartbroken. The overall story structure is brilliant. Top-tier artwork, music, chemistry, and atmosphere. Very good voice acting, heartfelt emotional rollercoaster, and responsibly depicted morally problematic parts. The true story line was way more dark and complicated than I expected, but in a good way. Be aware though, this vn is filled with mentally broken adults—the kind of broken you can see everywhere in real life, and may hit a bit too close to home... To be honest, I hate this developer's previous titles: in particular Newton and Artificial Pigeons. But this one got so many praises that I still decided to give it a try. It was the right choice. Nice bittersweet feeling without putting in unnecessary dramas. The stories themselves—all 3 dreams plus the main story—develops quite naturally to the conclusion (a bit predictable, but that's fine by me). Well, maybe except the part about Asuma's backstory near the true ending, that part was a bit abrupt and wasn't really well-foreshadowed. In the beginning, of the first three "dream" stories, I only liked one of them (the camera boy one). Nonetheless, all of them moved me in the inevitable ending. It's truly an adult title. Not just because there are explicit scenes, but because the adults in the story actually acted like adults, and when we're on said adult's POV, the internal thoughts and logic matched the character really well. Some top-tier writing here. Oh and I like the approach they use when conducting brain-related researches. They're essentially doing dataset collection for machine learning! That's fairly modern in comparison to some other sci-fi vns in the field.

After having finished this, I finally recognise how people can praise this VN so incredibly heavily. I already though pretty highly of it and was hyping myself up before I even started, but I really wasn't prepared for the sheer gravity of what they unleash on you. Simply put, I'm in the camp of thinking this is quite possibly one of the best VNs ever written. It has left me shattered and broken but I don't regret a second of it. If I could forget it all and read it again I would. This VN is so hard to talk about because all moments, all aspects of each case are important that I would argue anything and everything is a spoiler. Its all so precious that to give anything away would just ruin it. Its one of those things where you just have to go on blind faith. In regards to the patch, you can honestly take it or leave it as the 18+ content are merely glimmers of happiness in comparison to the rest of the story.

9/10. Excellent 30 hours read. I think I cried a lot—maybe idk... hard to remember over the past 2 weeks reading. But my interest never once faded. Every time I sat down, I knew I was in for some good stuff. This VN feels like a full course meal—starting bittersweet and ending with... something that haunted me for a while. Was it sweet? Satisfying? Or was it sad and full of bitterness? So many emotions with this damn story. So many ups and downs. The story, the art, the soundtracks—they all mesh together so well, leaving me kinda mentally f'ed up by the end. I thought I had some "tolerance" toward these kinds of media, but man was that a gut punch. Probably an easy top 5 for me. The plot isn’t perfect, but I never once had to really suspend my disbelief. And while I disagreed with half the cast, their choices still felt so damn convincing. Not perfect writing, but convincing enough for me.
