Honestly, this is only the second game I've ever had enough interest in to attempt a speedrun. I've held the world record briefly and then lost it. I'm attempting to get it back. This game is SO worth the cost it's insane. It's entirely made in RPG maker and outrageously simple, yet somehow one of the most brilliant games I've ever played. 100% of the dialogue (and most of the items) are nothing but toilet humor, and that somehow adds to the charm. 10/10, would recommend.

Lots of lewd tongue in cheek humor with a decently balanced combat system. The warning about the elevator being wonko at the end however is *no joke*. Save, lest you get teleported to some floor that looks like space and only has a flying ship, an actual ship, and ... row boat? Regardless, once there you can't escape and have to reload your save. Aside from that one issue so far, I've enjoyed it immensely.

i like that the level design and layout resemble some of the more classic jrpg games(like chrono trigger), and for those that are curious yes it is kinda grindy but i find that's just part of the fun of the genre , very well written (although off putting if you dislike toilet humor) the animations are smooth and polished and i would highly recommend this game if you are fans of the genre

As I launched this game, someone got curious and asked if they could watch. Neither of us knew what to expect and we were met with hours of entertainment and we bore witness to what can only be described as true art. The combat was really boring up until the point where you started finding really overpowered weapons and party members, the true strength of this game is the dumb sense of humor it has and it's ability to keep you on the edge of your seat and excited for whatever crazy thing is coming next. It took me about 4 hours to experience everything the game had to offer minus some things i might have missed and some enemies i would have needed to really grind for. For just a few dollars i think it's an amazing experience to share with someone you want to confuse.

Tower of Wowers from Necrocaticgames. This game has it all. Hand drawn monsters, Custom music, traps. The high school bathroom humor in this game is epic. Run around and collect shit to spend on items. Epic battles, magic, skills. Necrocaticgames delivered a GRAVY EPIC ADVENTURE. I highly recommend this game.

I have only played it for 3 hours, but I like it so far. Very light grinding, but content change very fast, that the game is fun non the less. Funny and interesting. I will write a more detailed review when I finish the game.

I don't know what I was expecting, but this wasn't it. In the best way of course. Pancake slayed the music. Custom artwork is 10/10. Eat shit, in the game I mean, that's the only way to survive.

TL;DR: "The Tower of Wowers" is a parody sh*tpost game showcasing a ton of grotesque and bizarre hand-drawn enemy designs all within a tower-crawling game revolving around all things fecal matter. Featuring unique enemy designs, specially-made music, and fairly challenging boss fights, this strange game that oozes hallucinogenics stands out among the crowd as offering a truly different type of RPGMaker experience, being just sh*tpost enough to work while still maintaining a level of video game design passion that makes it oddly charming in a way. ------------------------------------------------- "The Tower of Wowers" is the debut title of NecroCatic Games (although with this game, it really should be NecroScatic Games). A sh*tpost game in all possible ways, we follow the scantily clad hero Hairold as he goes up the strange Tower of Wowers, encountering tons of bizarre and grotesque enemies along the way. The unique part about this game is its hand-drawn enemies, all of which are just overly strange and unique. In most RPGMaker games, you can expect early encounters to be goblins, orcs, or something more fantastical. Some of your first enemies in The Tower of Wowers can be sharks, a piece of string, a cat with an exposed brain, or just some dude named Ian. There's also some pants. And flesh. An inside-out giraffe? Sh*t's strange, man. "Why would I want to play this game?" you might ask yourself. Tower of Wowers is by all means a parody game that does its best to make you laugh, roll your eyes, or just shake your head, at least one of which you're likely to do a dozen times in the first hour. Think of this game more as an enemy showcase than a true RPG experience. The developer wants to show you all of these crazy unique enemies that you won't really find anywhere else and isn't afraid of delving into the grotesque in order to touch those enemy types that most games wouldn't dare to. Something that the game is littered with but isn't to be taken lightly is the music, which is actually extremely good. To be completely honest, I expect RPGMaker games to be full of the basic assets provided by the program itself, but Tower of Wowers seems to go above and beyond as much as possible to push the envelope for these types of games. The battle system isn't quite what's to be expected from RPGMaker games, nor is the music, nor is the enemy design. Don't underestimate how strange this game really is. My only real complaints aside from some nitpicking involve an uninspired level theme, the occasional bug, and some interesting enemy scaling where sometimes on one floor an enemy will deal 100+ damage to you, but the next floor's enemy will consistently deal 0 damage to you. There isn't much going in the way of characters, most of them are completely mute as soon as you recruit them into your party. The majority of floors only have one enemy, which made it feel kind of useless to continue with random encounters on each floor. Sometimes you'd get a floor with more than one enemy and sometimes it'd even be a rarer variant of that enemy similar to something like Dragon Quest. There's a clear passion involved in this project. It oozes the type of passion and humor that makes for a good developer. You can see the type of effort that went into making this game and it's impressive just how different it feels from most other RPGMaker titles that I've played. It's such a strange game, there really isn't any other word that can better describe it. By all means experimental, The Tower of Wowers offers a genuinely bizarre experience with its showcase of strange enemies. Boasting several oddities and welcome additions that set it apart from the traditional RPGMaker experience, expect plenty of puns, ridiculous humor, outrageous enemy design, unique environmental music, and an experience that I can really only describe as hallucinogenic. + Very self-aware game, full of references to other games + Hand-drawn bizarre enemies, really what makes the game stand out among most other games + Great unique music! + Plenty of party members, even if some are more useful than others + Battles can actually become difficult, especially as you get to the hidden raid bosses + Full of little secrets and stupid bits of dialogue - A couple of crashes (so save every few floors) - Typically one enemy per floor, but occasionally a rare variant of an enemy can show up - Uninspired level design, sometimes feeling like the developer was running out of ideas but needed to get a floor down - Strange enemy scaling (some deal 0 damage, others deal hundreds) - Additional party members don't seem to have dialogue outside of recruitment
