AI is very predictable, maps are small, and there's no real quality of life features - no quicksave, no reload while in a battle, no skip cutscene if you've already seen something. The fact that it's short isn't a problem, but it was a bit of a struggle to get through.

Short but high quality. Only encountered one visual bug. The story tries to be complex and hit hard but it's too short to build up and land the impactful moments. Still worthwhile if you like tactics games.

Vanaris is a streamlined Final Fantasy Tactics homage which captures the spirit of its combat well, if not the story or advancement systems. What's here is fun, particularly if you don't just rush right through and instead stop to clear out each combat area enough to reach the extra boss fights. Skill loadouts are really interesting and battles only take five, maybe ten minutes at absolute most when set to double speed. The story isn't great, but I like that it focuses almost entirely around a family unit. Worth a pickup on sale for sure.
