i have no idea what kind of devil-magic went into making this work in RPG Maker, but i'm all for it

Lefty is 5 dollars and so is this game! (TDLR and non spoiler version: This game is absolutely amazing and you should definitely get it if you're even the least bit curious. It is criminal how underrated and under talked about this game is.) I got this game for about $3 because it was on sale. I got it not thinking much about the game, but my friend said that the game was really good, so I ended up getting it. What I experienced is now one of my favorite horror games to date. It ticks a lot of boxes for me that make horror actually scary. I've played too many horror games where they just don't scare me at all, but I'm happy to report that there were several times in which my hands were shaking, flung my keyboard a little, or my heart was going insane. I was very heavily invested in the story throughout the entire experience, it's such an interesting concept to me. The gameplay is also really good. While playing this game made me think of some of my other favorites due to how well the horror was actually executed. It reminded me of the RE series (because of the key collecting and some of the puzzles), Doki Doki Literature Club (The entire, kill off a beloved creature, then act like nothing happened at all for a bit, only to bring them back and taunt you with them), IM SCARED (The whole game kind of reminds me of it and that's a fantastic thing), and FNAF (The Miboo boss fight). This game shocked the hell out of me. When I heard it was made in RPG Maker, I reasonably thought there wouldn't be first segments, so the first time it shot me into first person I was instantly on edge, it also helps that the segments with first person were really good and super tense. I saw a comment saying how this game becomes very unfair and I have to say, I had very few experiences in which I truly thought that (The blind monster in the caves came out of the door the second I approached and I was got. The hiding segment as well felt a little jank at times, but again, it wasn't crippling to the experience in any way), but the punishment for being caught makes it mild hurdle more than anything else, so I don't really agree with that at all. Overall, this is fucking sorcery that this was made in RPG Maker and I really look forward to the next game that this studio makes. 10/10
