I really can't pinpoint what it is. It just is. Hoping for continued attention because I find myself loosing time here :)

I highly recommend this game. Even in early access it is very fun. Lots to explore. Having to actually map the locations and then stamping them to reflect what is there makes me so happy. I look forward to more. Just started co-op with my son and no issues. We are both having fun. My only gripe would be fighting. On normal, enemies were one shotting us. Had to change to easy. Otherwise, I look forward to possibly having ship battles in the future.

So far the game is pretty fun, more immersive NPC's would be nice the NPC in town don't move much and if you attack them they won't fight back or even run.

This game as of now is unfinished, its missing elements that would make it a lot more fun. it basically plays like sea of thieves but the missions are not all that fun and the loot is okay at best. I would like to see survival elements put into the game like hydration not just a hunger bar that doesnt go down. ship upkeep would also be kinda fun. the combat not all that bad tho. anyways i hope this game develops into a great game because i cant refund it haha.

for me its lacking the naval combat, the cannons. World is a bit empty and needed more enemies specially on the seas. Coop is here is its good already. game is looking good graphic wise. it felt like sea of thieves brother.

I feel in love with Salt 1 when I played it. I finally bite the bullet and bought part 2 before 1.0 release. I was planning to hold off until full release but I couldn't hold off any longer... :-) I'm only just starting the game but I can already tell its going to be everything part 1 was and better. It almost feels like this game was designed for me. I love everything about it and I have a feeling its going to easily take my #1 spot in all my years of gaming. Yes, that's including games like witcher 3 and New vegas. For me Salt 1 and 2 are that good. I plan to take my time and enjoy every minute of this great game. For me Salt 2 is proof that AAA companies and top tier graphics don't make a great game. Its about the thought and care that goes into creating a world and the mechanics that make it all come together. Salt 2 so far has everything I've ever wanted in a video game. My only hope is that the devs eventually add mod support so others can expand upon this already fantantic game. But that might be asking too much :-) Thank you devs for all your hard work. I hope you get tons of support and recognition for this game because it truly is something special. Please please please bring us Salt 3 in the future.

Very promising, but still needs quite a bit of work. People compare it to sea of thieves but these are two very different games. Your boat is more like a mobile base in salt 2, rather than a vessel you use to interact with the world like in sea of thieves. There is no ship combat. Exploration and novelty are Salt 2's strong points. There's lots of cool moments to be had and surprises to be found. The overall presentation is mixed, but still charming. Sun sets and rises stand out as particularly pretty. The water physics at sea are impressive for a game of this scale. Combat is straight up cheeks. No depth beyond a simple, easy parry system. Certain weapon types do better against certain enemy types, but it's just numbers. All weapons feel the same to use. Quest lines are generic and the story may as well not be there, but the locations it sends you can be very engaging. Dungeon design is decent to great and there are some really standout ones to find. Although the moment to moment gameplay varies quite a bit in terms of quality, there is absolutely a good time to be had here.

It's like Sea of Thieves except actually good and made for adults with lives outside of video games.
