Excess of DEI makes this sometimes physically painful to play...
Story is interesting but plagued with childish psychology that self-perceives as mature.
I felt coerced into choosing certain paths, so, not really any true freedom available.
Oh, and the kid looks like Chucky...
Games like Life is Strange and Before the Storm were great.
This studio has become fully committed to Woke content.

First of all: I am a big fan of DONTNOD and it‘s games.
BUT this game is far from everything that I know of the studio & it's even more far away from actually making fun. It’s so so so so boring and even though the playtime isn’t that much I couldn’t get myself to play it till the end. It’s a waste of time, it’s a waste of money and I hope I never have to touch anything like that again.

this has a lot of stunning moments visually and honestly i really enjoyed getting to know the town of basswood and its residents. the design of the mind palace is stunning, and overall is a pretty good experience! definitely a bit shorter than other dontnod creations but i think it does well with the time that it has

If you like games of this kind and don't mind a shorter game than you are used to, you will like this one too. I can recommend to buy it on sale and give it a try. :)

World graphics: (Amazing!)
Character models: (Unity ahh models)
Tbh it might just be me who's too used to looking at the smallest of details in every game i play. The games looks Great. though not as long of a story as your average ''Life Is Strange'' game. The only thing i don't like about this game is the face to face cutscenes, the face animations are either random or flat, nothing in between which really gives off that ''Unity'' type feel... though i did have fun which is what matters most
Worth picking up when on discount :)

This game is so weirdly paced. It's short, and yet feels too long. The protagonist is one of the least likable characters I've ever played, and the writing is cliche as hell. The game is full of invisible walls (including one scene where I literally just walked forward after gaining control of the character at the beginning of the chapter and it did the awkward "I'm gonna verbally explain why I can't go this way and slowly turn around the other direction for 5-7 seconds" animation. The interactive items in the environments are not very obvious because some of them are just labeled, and some are labeled with interaction options, but the glyphs for the button presses don't show up unless you look at it at exactly the right angle.

As a fan of Life is Strange and other choice-based games, I really liked this game despite its mixed reviews. The visuals were gorgeous, the characters were unique and interesting, and I enjoyed the story even though it wasn't very long. I was interested enough to replay the ending chapters to see the different endings, which I normally wouldn't bother doing.
Overall, I recommend this game for fans of story-rich, choice-based games with a slight supernatural theme.
