Sound and Atmosphere > Good
Scares > Bad
Play it more for the mystery than the scare.

If you enjoyed Project Zero / Fatal Frame game series, Japanese folklore horror or Chilla's Art games then this game is for your.
- The atmosphere and ambience of the game is spine tinglingly chilly.
- The sounds will cause increasingly more goosebumps to appear on your arms and neck areas.
If you play in a room, with the lights off and THX headphones on, like I do... then you will most certainly have the urge to look back over your shoulder now and then, just to be sure nothing is watching over you...as you explore this dilapidated creepy Japanese inn.
If any of the above entices you, then I implore you to buy this game and support the developer. It is most definitely worth the money.
oooOOOOHHhhhh what was that in the corner of my eye....nothing....I am sure it was nothing.....

No real scares, no real puzzles. The only thing you do throughout is to grab a key and open a door and then grab anothey key for another door and open another door to grab another key for another door and so on. To say nothing of that randomly spawning ridiculous (but not scary at all) ghost you easily elude by simply holding "R" when you encounter.

Really tense and creepy atmosphere. The lack of music makes the atmosphere much more unsettling.
However, it seemed to focus more on fake-out scares than actual scares. And the dialogue and text were sometimes hard to comprehend because of the way it was translated.
I played better horror games, but that doesn't mean that this wasted my time. I wished it had more variety. But if you're the kind of person that likes a quick horror game that delivers on the atmosphere and ambiance then this might be for you.

I hate to leave a poor review on an indie game, but honestly this game just kinda sucks. The English translation is the worst i've seen in along time, couldn't make any sense of most of it, and all the story is told via notes/text so gg there. The audio/atmosphere is like none existent as well, and when it is present unfortunately it's hilariously bad screams and no music ect, gameplay is literally just find key to kitchen for example, which the map isn't translated so it's basically useless, then find x key in the next room ect, the only real mechanic in the game, like you can't even sprint or crouch/hide ect it's a two button game, is that you can hold your breath and it's wonky af, got frustrated with it immediately. Masagoro also has no real settings other than "low" or "epic" presets so you can't turn off the blur ect, changing res seems to have no effect, low fps cap... usually i'd just suffer through the 2 hours so I could at least finish the game but I just can't be bothered with this. Not worth, avoid. 1/10

Have you ever looked at a new horror game and said “Gee I sure hope all I have to do in this game is walk from one room to the other grabbing keys.”? Well then this game is for you! When you first start you might be disillusioned to think that this game could turn out to be great! The graphics are pretty solid. Sound design aint too bad. But holy fuck it goes downhill very quickly.
You'll spend your gameplay walking into the bathroom to get the warehouse key to enter the warehouse to get the office key to enter the office to get the bedroom key to enter the bedroom to get the entrance key and so on and so forth for two hours. Almost the entirety of this game is based on walking into a room, having some kind of weird jumpscare (A skeleton falling, a door falling, a knife falling, a light falling, basically just shit falling), picking up a key, then proceeding onto the next area. There are no real threats, nothing actually frightening, and only one enemy and boy is he a fucking let down.
Throughout the game random wal-mart looking skeletons will fall at you, trip at you, walk through a wall at you, so on and so forth. About half way through the game one of them gets a mask and proceeds to randomly appear and follow you around for a bit. Wanna know how to beat him? Spoiler. Hold your breath...I mean in game not IRL. You hold R and become immune to the demon for a short amount of time. The downfall is the enemy can randomly appear almost directly in front of you not giving you enough time to hit R and requiring you to restart. Make sure you save often.
Maybe this game has more significance in japanese culture but regardless its garbage. A boring game of hide and go seek against a set of keys.
