The worst game I've been playing last 5y years.
Really bad everything: fights, platforming, bosses.
More or less normal is narrative. But everything rest will make you suffer.
Money wasted.
UPD: and the cherry on the top - Looks like i get the Sojobo boss with the level less than it was planned and i can barely hit him. 5 minutes of fight and i could remove about 25% of boss health bar. Now game is incompletable.

Game is cool looking. But can't parry good cuz the game's Claymation shutter effect throws me off so much, smooth setting or open up the parry window to cover for those missing frames , could fix. I've completed Elden Ring and the like but can't time the parrys in this game. I mean wtf. how could you develop a game in such a bubble that you don't realize that your own self inducing Claymation shutters are fucking with the games timing. Hubris is a word cuz this is shit. I hear that other action Claymation games have the same issue. Art is not greater than gameplay in games. Claymation in games where timing is a thing- fucking brilliant . Cuz wow.

I mean its a nice game with a nice story, im just about to beat it... Its bittersweet ya know_ even it is good it lacks optimization with combat, you get overwhelmed not beacuse you lack skills, but because your character gets locked on a single react animation which allows your enemies to take advantage of it, one thing you can trigger on enemies if you are familiar enough with combat, and its still pretty janky lmao. FIX IT GUYS I LOVE YOU I BELEIVE IN YOU!!
I Recommend it because this will make Spirit Of The Samurai 2 way much better than this

The stop-motion visuals are very well done and do most, if not all, the heavy lifting in making this game appealing. I'm giving this a recommendation only because the artstyle is so cool, but beware if you're expecting a well designed gameplay experience to go with it.
My critique regarding the combat :

Enemies break out of hitstun at random, making any fight with more than one opponent nearly impossible. This forces you to inch across the level in order to aggro one enemy at a time.

The parry is essentially useless. It stuns and pushes enemies outside your attack range, however by the time you close the distance, the stun has already worn off. It's much more efficient to just full guard and counter attack for most situations, making most of the fights extremely tedious.

The majority of the unlocked moves have too long of a wind-up time, or are too short range. Enemies constantly dodge backwards or get pushed away by your initial combo, making 90% of the skills not worth using.

Most of the gameplay is trial-and-error. You walked forward too fast? You aggro'd 3 enemies and die. You pushed a box into a corner? You needed to position it correctly to jump to a ledge and there's no way to get it out of the corner - die and try again.
It's a brutal slog to get to the final boss, but if your a masochist and want to see all the cool stop-motion artwork, it can be a fun game to complete over a weekend.
