Never refunded a game so fast.
Visually it looks unique with a gorgeous stop motion style of animation but the game does nothing to make you want to play. From the overly long winded intro sequence to just a terrible first set of missions with unclear directives that has you wondering your starting village guessing what to do and where to go.
Creatively - visually - its stunning and while the art team clearly did an amazing job, sadly the game design team didn't do their homework. It's just a chore to drag yourself through. The combat just feels awful, unresponsive. Designed to try and feel like a souls type game but with out any of the polish and details in attack patterns and smoothness that make that genre so good. Things felt unresponsive, janky and awquard. Such a wasted potential.

Literally can't get past the training part where you fight one of the homies in combat. They want you to go to the watchtower but there's a bug and no resolution online.

Very fun metroidvania with a lot of character to it. It can be a little clunky at times, but it does something interesting narratively, graphically and mechanically that made me really enjoy it. If you need all of your games to have crazy fps than this isn't for you. However, if you're a fan of the genre and wanna scratch the itch; give it a try. Hard game at some points, but I heavily enjoyed it. 4/5

It really hurts to vote this as negative. Like, I want to love this game. Even with the mixed reviews the stop-motion art style remind me of some games I loved back in the day (like Neverhood and Skullmonkeys). And to the game's credit, it absolutely nails this aesthetic. And I do not agree with people's complaints about the combat. It is generally pretty fun, but can feel a little cheap from time to time. But the build-a-combo system is awesome, and it was fun experimenting with what you could do with it.
Unfortunately, that's where the good things end. I feel like a large portion of the time, the game just simply did not register my inputs. Jumps and attacks just sometimes simply wouldn't come out. And with as precise as the platforming can be, this leads to very unfair deaths. On top of this, there are several times the game just expects you to make leaps of faith that, often time, will absolutely kill you. There's a process of trial and error where you just have to die a bunch. Not because it's hard, just because you need have to learn what's coming up. There was also several times, I just simply didn't know what would or wouldn't kill me. Like, some fire you can walk through, others can be instant death. Like I said, trial and error.
And while all this above is bad, the worst of it is the constant soft-locks or freezes I kept getting. Like several times, I'd get in the menu, and the cancel button just... stopped working. Meaning I couldn't get out of it with the only recourse being to Alt+F4. And it wasn't my controller. I'd disconnect and try to use keyboard with the same result. And there was this one time where there was a section that went a long time without a check point, and I died because an enemy killed me while I was trying to close out of the window to confirm a new sword skill I got. And once I got all the way back, I tried to set that new skill to a combo, but then got the can't-close-menu soft-lock. Which is why I'm writing this now. I just don't have it in me to keep playing right now. Regardless how the game ends, I'm confident it won't change my feelings on everything thus far.
Like many other reviews here, it sucks I can't give this a positive review. And I feel like a LOT of these issues could have been fixed with just a little more time in the oven. It's also really sketchy that the devs disabled discussion forums entirely. And when these issues weren't present, I was having a genuinely good time. Ah well, c'est la vie.
