Demeo to me is like an old favorite movie that you love. And after seeing it a bunch of times you put it away knowing you will be watching it again through out the years. So in this regard, Demeo, like an old classic movie being put away, will always be brought back out to be played over again in the future. It's a great game.

The game is good but incredibly unfair or imbalanced. Ran into a game that I was just constantly being swarmed by enemies. Nothing could really be done about it besides rushing through it only to deal with a boss with ridiculous abilities. It kinda felt like playing a DND game with a shit DM who absolutely hates his party is just trying to end us with a TPK

Pretty disappointing. Do not expect depth of play, progression, or any impactful interactions within the game world. It's all very straightforward and has been done before. If you want a compelling multiplayer experience with friends I'd look elsewhere. They made this game hoping to cash in on the VR angle but in the end I'm not sure it knows what it wants to be. It's something like a mobile game made for a casual crowd. I got it on a big sale ($8 or so) and I don't think it was worth it - $40 is bonkers.

A game with some good bones that's ultimately significantly more frustrating than I expected. The desert levels with the blood plague in particular are incredibly fucking annoying well beyond anything you can reasonably expect in an already lopsided game. Here are the game design issues: 1. You have limited resources that slowly refresh, your enemies have unlimited resources and also spawn infinitely. All of their abilities are spammable. 2. Your crowd control is weak dogshit, their crowdcontrol is spammable and fully effective. Most bosses are functionally immune to about half the crowd control. 3. Bosses have bullshit gimmicks that are never explained, so if you go in blind you could just instant lose because it never explains how to kill the boss. I wasted hours today fighting a boss that required me to randomly stand on 4 tiles at the same time. The game wants you to google search and meta game, or potentially waste literally as much as 5 hours on a campaign attempt. Unemployed levels of game punishment. Worse than any strategic rogelike punishment I've ever played. 4. Enemies deal absolutely fucking insane damage, and you deal almost no damage. Enemies have 60 health and you have 10. Like why am I getting two shot by a boss with an action economy defecit. All the good bones of the game are not enough to overcome this, it genuinely feels like the devs hate the player. You can't properly crowd control, tank, dps or manage aggro, you're just meant to absolutely blow up fights from the start, spam summons or auto-lose. You low roll your shop and don't get summons or good abilities? Cool you lose. Play a modern version of a game like this and actually enjoy your time. Wish I could refund this game.
