I started this game as a Stardew Valley lover, and in the beginning, without having seen anything about it other than the pictures on the steam storefront page, it satisfied my craving for another farming sim. I encountered a small amount of bugs (some more annoying than others) and the amount of dlc's available made me a bit suspicious but overall it felt like a really refreshing game, which led to me sinking 45h in it. Then I *ACTUALLY* read the steam page and its reviews and informed myself. Turns out the devs are being horrible to both the fans and their workers, investing more time into making dlc's than fixing the players' concerns (which get often silenced/removed from official communication channels, such as Discord and Reddit). As a person wanting to work into the creative field this was an absolute punch in the gut and it genuinely made me want to fully stop playing. If you do not mind the game in its current state, dlc's being prioritized over game content and not having proper communication from the devs over understandable concerns, then I guess this game is fine. For me, it is not enough to recommend this game, unless their business model/practices change and they actually start crediting and paying the people that are helping them make money.

I love this game, it's one of the best farming sims I've ever played and I actually prefer it to Stardew due to some of the features, but I cannot recommend it due to the how horribly Pixel Sprout has been treating its artists, their (potentially, I don't know for sure since I'm not versed in US law) illegal use of volunteer work despite being a for-profit company, and their constant silencing of criticism in all of their official forums. They also haven't credited anyone who's worked on the game. I wish I knew about all of this before I got so many hours into the game, as I'd refund it if I could. Definitely don't suggest buying it unless Pixel Sprout starts paying and crediting the people who've worked on the game and allowing people to openly criticise the game and Pixel Sprout's practices in places where they can silence it.

The developers of this game has mismanaged and abused their artists, while also refusing to credit them. Please do not support this game.

A romance fan review: This game is very fun and has plenty of content for every kind of farming sim player. You won't get bored. But, if you are a romance/roleplay(rp) fan like me, you will be a bit disappointed. At first the dialogue is extensive and shows great character, but after a while they end up saying the same one liner. Deepening your relationship doesn't help much either as it seems the closer you get to a character, the shorter the scripts. Marriage is also very bare bones. Additionally, don't even think about being loyal. If you are interested in a character's story but don't want to romance them for rp reasons, well tough luck because it is locked behind dating them (very sad). Despite all I've said, I do enjoy running around and becoming the farmer I want to be. You don't need to make and use all the machines offered (there are a lot), but instead, you can pick a specialty as the skill trees allow for any activity to become profitable. So I recommend. TLDR: Sun Haven is fun and expansive but heavily lacks in the romance department.

As much as I truly love this adorable game I cannot recommend it to others. I love how cute, active, and colorful it is, and the artstyle is truly incredible. It's because of that that I can't give this game a good review. Pay your artists, who are you to take that away from them when YOU hired them cause YOU needed help? Scummy practices like this are the reason dedicated and skilled artists can't make a living doing the things they love, pay your artists and I'll gladly rave about this game. I hope Kendra wins.

i cant recommend this game at all. there is WAAAYYYY too much pointless stuff crammed into the game for it to play well. ontop of the boring story and shallow npcs, avoid this game. Not to mention the ongoing issue with AI usage and not paying the artists they do actully hire. dlc like sims. save your money and get the new story of seasons grand bazaar thats out at the end of this month instead. i regret buying this and the dlc 100%.

Such an amazing and fun game. The characters are fun, and there's loads of content to play! If you don't care about who you give your money to, and enjoy games like Stardew Valley, Sunhaven is for you. IF, however, you don't want to support a company who doesn't credit artists and developers, pays close to minimum wage to people from lower income countries, hires all their employees as contractors to skirt regulation and not give them benefits, censors information and criticism on their discord and Reddit, and is run by quite the sexist dude who apparently yells at women, then I would pass on Sunhaven. I think I've put in too many hours to say this game is bad, but it's not quite good? All I can say is that you'll like this game if you like cozy farming sims spawned from Stardew Valley. It's overbloated with too many characters and items so nothing feels distinct or memorable, but it's a decent time sink.

Don't buy this game. Scummy studio refuses to pay or give credit to artists and is trying to wipe out any evidence of this happening.
