Such a great experiense. Deep, creative and interesting. I hate reading in games. I don't know why I still playing this game. I have bought this game just because of Steam store header art, itis so fresh and original, and well done technikly. Design, colors, face expression, tension in fist. I even dіdn't know what to expect in this game. But i bought it and enjoy it. Thanks to every member of dev and art team for that experience!

What I love most about DO MY BEST games are these meditate conversations during long train or car rides. I don't even care what's the next game is about - if it has them, I'm buying it.

I really enjoyed this game from beginning til end. Being able to actually jump in and experience those books and their mini stories "first-hand" is the dream of any book lover! The graphics are decent, and the combat, while simple, has its own unique charm. The interactions are well-designed, ensuring you always have the information you need to stay on track with your objectives. Overall, I give it a solid 10/10! Looking forward to more games like this!

This is the first time I write a comment in steam Although you can beat the storyline with a few hours of gameplay, every second of this game is fantastic. The game in itself is very immersive: beautiful soundtracks, nice visuals, awesome books throughout the narrative, and, most of all, a brilliant story. From this experience, I learned a lot about fiction, about creating feelings for characters (and about treating them as people). I ended the game with tears in my eyes. I loved it! Thank you very much for the experience

A wonderful game exploring the beauty of books and the stories they contain. Fantastic visuals and an interesting story, this game in but a few hours gives so much and leaves one wanting for so much more. If you are an enjoyer of the paper-based medium of storytelling, I cannot recommend this computer-based counterpart enough.

This game had a lot of potential, but while I enjoyed parts of it, more often than not it ended up falling flat. The premise is intriguing; the worlds that you enter are beautiful and well-realized, yet there was simply not enough narrative depth to latch onto, nor enough mechanical depth to keep me engaged. There are minor puzzles, but nothing that really makes you think. There is combat, but it's easily gameable and doesn't serve any real purpose in the narrative. There is crafting and looting items, but it all feels designed to be busywork rather than anything meaningful. And there are dialogue choices, but it's quickly made apparent that nothing you say will ever lead to a different path or have an impact on the story. It's essentially a walking sim wrapped in a few other mechanics that didn't really need to be there. This would all be fine - I enjoy a good walking sim, after all - but the story itself left a lot to be desired. I really liked the vibe and atmosphere of the 1st person real-world segments, and the environmental storytelling in those bits was excellent, but the 3rd person book segments, gorgeous as they were, were often marred by weak dialogue and uninteresting characters. Roderick and Etienne's banter was the worst offender here - most notably in how handholding your sidekick is in regards to even basic objectives. The game really only picks up several hours in, with a mechanic in book 5 that feels like it should have been essential to every level, but was introduced there as a gimmick and then never seen again. Book 6 was genuinely quite good, but then the climax that happens right after feels very rushed, and the game ends abruptly after that. There was very little closure on any of the themes, and none of the ideas that were brought up throughout the story felt like they were explored to their full potential, which is a real shame. All in all, I would still recommend this game if you want something chill and pretty that doesn't make you think very hard. I don't regret playing it, I just wish it had been more fulfilling.
