Not worth!!! Use it money for crown crates instead, you'll still probably get nothing considering the rolls are terrible, but it'll definitely be better than whatever is inside blackwood. Companions are nice, but not $50 worth. If you want to look at a swamp that actually looks good, go to Murkmire. The oblivion gates are also very disappointing consider it doesn't have any variety in layout, challenge, or bosses.

The new zone definitely is not for me. If you dislike swamps, you will dislike this zone, although Leyawiin and Gideon are amazing, though small in size. The story had a good twist, but besides that it was just boring & obvious. It just feels like the past two expansions have been trying to relive nostalgia from the original TES games. We already know Dagon is stopped in TES 4, just like we already knew the fate of solitude/the dark heart in Greymoor from TES 5. Unlike the Elsywere & Summerset chapters we are exploring areas we have already explored, and stories that have obvious endings. I just wish ZOS should explore avenues that we barely know about yet & stop living on nostalgia. Blackwood definitely not worth it for me at least at the moment.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? I just bought the upgrade to Blackwood Collector's Edition, and found out it doesn't come with everything in the Blackwood Collector's Edition. How the hell can you tell me I am getting the Blackwood Collector's Edition if I am not in-fact getting the Blackwood Collector's Edition. This is SOOOO incredibly bogus on Steams part or ESO's part or whoever is responsible. They absolutely know that this will get them more money, as people will now have to go back and PURCHASE FOR A SECOND TIME the Blackwood Collector's Edition if they actually want all the other chapters included. If they actually cared they'd change the wording to make this obvious, but they won't, because they want that extra money. I literally bought an upgrade to Blackwood Collector's Edition, and they didn't give me what comes in the Blackwood Collector's Edition. How absolutely bogus is that? Evidently by the comments, I am not the only one. Had I known there was a difference, I would have payed the $3 extra, as EVERYONE else would have, but they wanted people to have to purchase the same thing twice, which is why they have worded it how they did and STILL haven't changed it, even AFTER they know it's misleading people. Con-Artists.

DLC not sold as advertised. You have to make an additional purchase in order to access all of the content. Steam has not been responding to my tickets requesting a refund which is frustrating. Avoid the headache and don't get this DLC

Pretty good Chapter, however: I don't understand why ZOS charges people AU$89 per year for a chapter, whilst also expecting people to pay $129+ per year for ESO+ membership. So is the chapter worth the money? No, and each and every one of them never will be. (Funny that ZOS call these "chapters" and dont include them in their "DLC are free with ESO+" deal. Greedy greedy company.
Don't fall for the "Blackwood Upgrade" scam
You will not get any of the bonus DLC content (morrowind, elsweyr, etc). Make sure to buy the "Blackwood" edition even if you own ESO base game or any other DLC. Unless blackwood is all you need. If you already bought the upgrade, close your game and the launcher so that you do not go over 2 hours of play time and can refund it. Also make sure "Zenimax launcher" is closed too. Sometimes the launcher hangs without a window, but could still be running. I also recommend taking a screenshot of your play time when you send a support ticket, just in case. I nearly got screwed over and would have had to buy all the other DLC individually through the in game store at full price! UPDATE #1: 5 days later, 3 steam tickets, 1 eso ticket. Steam continues to refuse to refund this and correct the issue. This is a direct quote from Steam support: "As you know, you are not able to purchase the Blackwood bundle due to already owning the base game. Your option would be the upgrade option listed on the game's store page, but does only include the Blackwood DLC. If you wish to have access to all previously released DLCs, the subscription the publishers have provided would be the option to do so." And from ESO support: "I understand that you purchased the Blackwood Upgrade as opposed to the Blackwood Collection. Unfortunately as it was a purchase made through Steam we are unable to refund it or alter the purchase for you. We understand this is not the resolution you were hoping for and apologize for any inconvenience." UPDATE #2: Day 6 4 steam support tickets 2 eso support tickets Steam finally refunded the purchase. Thank you steam, even though it was like pulling teeth. I still fully blame ESO's deceptive marketing. It should not be legal, steam should not allow this.

The Blackwood Upgrade is not the same as purchasing the Blackwood Edition of the game. One would think that the extra cost of the latter was because it included the base game, which I'd already paid for. Instead, you only get the Blackwood Chapter if you get that upgrade, whereas the Blackwood Edition comes with multiple other chapters (i.e. the ones I was actually interested in). So now, if I wanted to access that content, I'd have to pay extra. On top of that, those chapters aren't available elsewhere in the Steam store (which would have made it clearer what I'd have to do to get them); instead, you have to go through the ESO Crown store, which is very overpriced. Having worked in the gaming industry before, I'd like to reemphasize an old sentiment here: fuck marketing teams.

I've loved Eso for a long time and bought most expansions. From Summerset to Blackwood. I've loved almost every singular expansion, and then there's blackwood. The expansion is really bad and underwhelming compared to the other chapters. So Blackwood adds a new feature, companions. In the early game they are decent, however in the mid- lategame they're useless. These companions don't deal damage, can't tank and can't heal much. To the point that the deadric summoning pets deal more damage and tank more, while some even heal more. The thought of a companion is good, yet in the current state they're pretty much an ai that uses the same voicelines over and over again that follows you. The time it takes for your follower to max out a skill tree is also really long, which is unfortunate, yet understandable. But it should be less of a grind than it currently is. The main storyline was pretty bad. You're running from point a to b the whole time and kill some monsters on the way. The story is also really short, you can do the story in like 2 hours. The "boss" is really weak and doesn't pose a threat at all. The story is barely a 5/10 in my books. The area's you visit are also pretty much the same. You go to the deadlands, listen to some voicelines and get right back to blackwood. The deadlands look pretty much the same every time you visit it. Blackwood on the other hand has some variation, but also not much. I wish i could recommend this, but it's way too expensive for the things you get. It just doesn't add enough to the game.

Steam needs to differentiate between Blackwood CE and Blackwood CE Upgrade. The Upgrade version does NOT include the additional areas listed as included.

If you already own the base game, and you're looking to get Blackwood AND Greymoor, Elsweyr, Summerset, etc., then DO NOT purchase the The Elder Scrolls Online - Blackwood Upgrade. Even though The Elder Scrolls Online - Blackwood includes the base game, this is still the version you're going to need in order to get all of the things. Steam needs to add a description to the Blackwood Upgrade version to clarify this because it's super confusing.
