I'm not quite sure what I think of this. I've had fun with these FMV games in the past - I played and enjoyed "The Complex" earlier this year - but this game didn't do as much for me. My first impression was that of confusion - the "film" just immediately starts playing in Chinese with Chinese subtitles, and there is no main menu to speak of. The film's subtitles can be changed to English with an option in the bottom right. Unfortunately, I'll need to dig into spoilers to really explore this game.
One "reading" would be to see the game as rather...adolescent. These characters are clearly replaying conflicts from high school, and remain caught up in the social hierarchy that existed then. In addition, watching from a "Western" perspective reveals a rather healthy dose of misogyny:

At one point, one of the men encourages two of the women to stand beside each other so that their relative attractiveness can be more easily ranked.
Comments are made about women only wanting money and wealth in a mate.
At one point, friendship between women is considered more "fragile" than that of men, and a woman is told that she is being too emotional.
Although this one isn't as big of a deal, it's also emphasized that every woman in the game needs a man to protect them.
As usual, this misogyny is coupled with a healthy dose of toxic masculinity - one "bro" calls the other a "loser bro" if he won't help him complete a robbery in the midst of a mass murder, while the other flies off the handle and jams a gun against the temple of his "bro" quite a bit faster than you'd expect. There's also a fair amount of self-destructive behavior. On the other hand, however, the game's climax is set around what turns out to be a "fragile" male friendship, and a conflict with a man who only cares about "money and wealth." It's also ironic that although the men insist that they are necessary to protect the women, the (seemingly) most dangerous individual in the game is a woman. Even so, that woman is a total psychopath, so there's really no "relating" to her.
Of course, this is simply how my playthrough went. Although it doesn't seem that there is much variation in the middle of the tale (often you end up doing every choice available rather than picking one that is mutually exclusive), there are eight different endings. I do wish that Kaijie wouldn't have been so debilitated by that gut punch - get out of this nightmare, buddy! Although the game certainly left me with a lot to think about, I do regret the time I spent playing it. Based on their characterization, I just didn't feel invested in any of the characters - there was no one that I wanted to "root for."

A school reunion gone wrong. Long Time No See is a fantastic mystery game where we somewhat play as an invisible detective watching all the chaos occurs, but mainly we follow Yu Kaijie.... who is a flawed individual that much I would spoil. But still, an interesting character no less where we help him pick out clues to find out who the killer is or we help our best friend to steal...whoops, I got to stop myself before I spoil anything. As a person with dyslexia and only knows English (so far), it was nice to have the option to rewind and unwind scenes with a timestamp which help act like a detective in case we missed any dialogues or clues. I wish more FMV does something like this, a very useful tool to skip or rewind to where we want it to be. I also love the quality of the security camera perspective as well as everything to the acting, props, and endings we get, and all of that for a good price, seriously there is nothing but praise I have for this game. You know a game is good if you played it all in one go, at least in my case where I played it in the evening and finish it in the morning after, (not without some sleep of course). I can't recommend this enough, it is an enticing mystery game where the killer makes sense, along with some entertaining side drama and a well-rounded character. GET THIS GAME NOW! P.S. There's an option to change the original language subtitles to subtle ones at the bottom of the menu screen.

It's a solid mystery game with multiple endings, at a great price. The one thing I noticed and can't stop thinking about is WHY ARE THEY WEARING SHOES INDOORS???

A good price and a nice little mystery plot, so an interesting game for interactive movies fans, it has a decent number of endings and there's also a little bonus intro scene once you've finished the game.

Quite an interesting game. It's nice to have characters that are so imperfect. Nice twist at the end to. Try to reach the true end, its worth it! Ah, one important note for those who can't figure out how to change to a different language. Hover the mouse down toward the bottom and hit the first icon on the right. A new little menu will appear and show what languages you can get subtitles in. In my case it was English. So yes, recommend this game. Affordable price and intriguing story with some good old timey FMV style gameplay.

Even though the devs made this game playable in English, I still can't make myself recommending this game. - Locaction for for changing the subtitles to english doesnt make sense. - Sometimes the English sub titles they forgot to add spaces between words. - Some cutscenes are very long (11 minutes without any choice in the middle of the game). - Subtitles show up for a very short amount of times sometimes, even sometimes less than 2 sec when theres a total of 4 full lines of text. In general it just feels low budget compared to every other FMV i played. Its cheap, but not sure if its worth it. - If you tab out of the game window, the video pauses.

Nice mystery and for a good price too! The actors/actresses did a great job acting out their roles. The story plot was really interesting and I love how you can use the flowchart to change your decisions rather than having to restart the game from the very beginning. If you are a fan of mystery games, point & click, and loves a good story, I would recommend giving this game a try.

When we start the game instead of the menu the story starts so it's in Chinese but can change the language to English etc. The story is Two guys are invited to a class reunion and they are planning to Rob a safe, but things don't go as planned for them and they are stuck in Mysterious situation, one of them is Yu Kaijie who player controls, player get choices to select and it leads to different situations etc, we can pause the game and select various options like save, options, clues found etc, also the story plays out like a film so one can rewind and forward each scene but choices once selected can't be changed. For me this FMV is really interesting, I can't find any fault with the FMV for me the actors did a good job, mystery is interesting, translation is not bad it's better than few other Chinese FMV or rpg games I played, Player can investigate and try to solve the mystery. I got the true ending and it was interesting and really suited an ending for stories involving mystery, suspense etc. The FMV might look simple ie the story part and some might even find who is responsible earlier but this one still have lot to offer as finding one secret leads to more mystery. I got true ending and few bad ends after playing for 2 hours and the game still have more to offer like different choices to make and different situations to handle. Good thing is you won't have to be a detective to solve the mystery, player just need to choose the correct option rest the game will handle, no complex puzzles to solve etc. This one is really a good FMV game that's true to the genre, The price is very cheap for this one, also player need not play the same scene again and again like other FMV games that are short and forces players to play the same scene again and again sometimes even without an option to skip, this one is not like those, player will get more than 1.5 hours of different footage and even after that more new scenes etc. The review may not be a perfect one, it's just for interested gamers to know what to expect from this one.

Another Chinese FMV with a mystery story. You play as Yu Kaijie, a middle-aged man who received an invitation to a class reunion, meeting up with his classmates in a villa owned by one of them. Little does he know that the villa will turn out to be a crime scene, and one of the guests is the killer.. or maybe more. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2919015249 There are multiple choices and eight endings. You could investigate rooms and question people, and collect clues. You could skip scenes without losing the clues or choices, and you can choose to jump to any scene you want from the map in case you want to change the choice or check other rooms. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2919015075 The acting is good, it felt like watching a movie. I didn't like the English subtitles though, some of the words are connected to each other, and having the font in white is a big mistake, it needs a dark background behind it to be able to read well. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2919012650 Pros: +Interesting story. +Choices and consequences. +Good soundtracks. +Interesting characters. +Good game length. +Multiple endings and routes. +Manual save. +Clues section. +Plot outline section where you can jump to any scenes you want to replay. +Steam achievements. Cons: - The subtitles font is white, it is better to have a dark background behind it. - Some of the words of the English subtitle are connected. - When checking the plot outline section during the gameplay, sometimes you can't click on the arrows to choose the scenes. It is a good game to play if you enjoy crime mystery. I honestly guessed who is the killer and the reason behind the killing from the first few scenes, and I was right. Still, it is a good and fun FMV to play.
𝐹𝑜𝑟 𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑟𝑒𝑣𝑖𝑒𝑤𝑠 𝑐𝘩𝑒𝑐𝑘 𝑚𝑦 𝑐𝑢𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑜𝑟 𝑝𝑎𝑔𝑒 𝐹𝑒𝑒𝑛𝑎'𝑠 𝐶𝘩𝑜𝑖𝑐𝑒
