It Does Not Work Correctly With Quest, You Can't Use Headphones While Playing This Game.

Started off with a good first impression, pretty damn good looking setting and a decent atmosphere but man was my experience so up and down. It's honestly got a few solid spooky sections and the sound design was bloody good but on the other hand it can get really annoying at times with how the AI can act up. Turning around quickly, seemingly at random. Heading straight to where you are and hanging around there so you can't do much of anything for a while. Sometimes not getting distracted by the things you throw. The general gameplay loop of running around and fetching items was fine for a while but when I hit the point where I got to a door and it was somehow magically sealed by 3 items, leaving me to immediately turn back to go on another item hunt, I was quite frustrated. I have very mixed feelings about this game. It does some things well but it gets quite tedious and annoyed me to the point I nearly quit it a few times. That being said, while I feel like the game could have been executed much better, I'm still going to leaving a positive review as I feel like it's still worth playing and it pulled off some good scares, which is what I've been seeking lately. So props to it for that.

How can a game be so bad and boring that it makes me file a refund for 2.61$ ?

Ngl. Pretty boring. I'll admit though I have been spoiled as I've played some of the best horror games, and some of the best VR games, so it's hard not to compare but there was some unforgivable sins. You're agonisingly slow, the difference between walk and sprint is quite literally a gentle slow stride vs a hurried shuffle. Enemies are vastly superior in speed. Environments are... Okay. Everything is very blocky in style and it's all modern but I can't help but think that the constant use of simple cubed sculptures and simplistic squared off polygonal statues is due to the limitation of a 3D artist rather than a theme? I don't know, it just felt very... Bland. Atmosphere sound-wise was pretty alright, but I never really felt tense. It took far too long to encounter my first spook and it wasn't scary at all, just a dude hanging there talking spooky lines. I think the main reason for things being so slow is to cater to people with motion sickness problems, which I can respect, as they also go as far as providing extensive customisation in the options menu for motion sickness - but if this is the reasoning for making everything so slow it's just crippled the gameplay and flow for something that people get used to after a few hours in VR as it is. Again, I want to remind the reader, I am very spoiled when it comes to horror. You may enjoy this quite a lot, but for anyone who's an absolute horror fanatic like myself I simply can't recommend it beyond sale prices.

Excellent simulator of the nightmare time distortion experienced in a Wraith: The Oblivion Harrowing, with it feeling like it takes weeks to cross a room. I hope your thumb isn't one of your fetters because it will drop off from holding it on the trackpad so long.

Stealth horror games requiring you to hide until you can get past are nothing new to me. This game though really elevates this mechanic to a frustrating degree. There are no checkpoints or a save anywhere option, only manual save points spaced too far apart, first mistake. The enemies can run very quickly to kill you instantly, your movement is quite slow even when you "sprint", second mistake. Also, third mistake, there's barely any hiding places. Only a few closets that allow you to hide and if you're not near one you can try to maybe duck to block line of sight, because you're certainly not going to be able to run anywhere. After spending a good chunk of time exploring, collecting and even finding necessary story/quest items I was "killed" and was sent back to the last manual save. There were no save points in the area I was in nor did I receive a checkpoint because they don't exist. I won't keep playing a game that doesn't respect my time.
