Indika is a unique story-driven game set in an alternative Russia. It focuses on its titular character, an ostracised nun who is tasked with delivering an important letter and must traverse the game’s harsh and surreal environments. Overall, it is an impressive and original game that blends genres and mechanics to create an unusual experience. It will take around 4-5 hours to complete and boasts diverse and satisfying gameplay, a strong and emotive narrative, stark, realistic visuals paired with intricate pixel art, and immersive and atmospheric sound design that creates an interesting juxtaposition between various elements of the game. Indika definitely offers something different and I thoroughly enjoyed this unique experience. I’d highly recommend it and believe it is a title that would be enjoyed by a wide range of players. loved it. it was everything it needed to be to bring you along as a part of the journey without TELLING you about beginning or end. doesn't feel incomplete either, went in without knowing anything left without wanting to know more, but in a good way.

great short ~4 hour game, a little overpriced for the amount of content, no replayability really set in an almost steampunk-like early 1900s/late 1800s alt russia with grand oversized architecture everywhere visually stunning puzzles periodically placed between walking simulator, not necessarily bad good story about a young orthodox nun, haunted by the devil great themes regarding morality & christian issues

Phenomenally weird and wonderful - spectacular in every way. I thought it was a truly interesting dive into surrealism and exploring faith and inner feelings. I thought the mix of 2D platform as cutscenes worked really well alongside the story as you piece everything together. I loved it and will 100% be playing it again and stalking this studio for a new release :)

I'm an artist and I'm always on the look out for artistic experiences so this should have been right up my ally. I should have loved this game. Granted the the art style is strikingly gorgeous and the world building left me asking so many interesting questions (why are the cans so big??) but for me the ending fell flat for what it was trying to say. The game play boils down to, walk here, walk there, cutscene, walk here, walk there, simple puzzle, rinse and repeat. There were some sections that felt very innovative and unique that used a prayer mechanic. That could have resulted in an exciting and poignant climax, but ultimately it was under-utilized. I do appreciate the twist with the male lead however. it really drove home how messed up this world is. Then there are certain sections that switch up game styles drastically. while I applaud the devs for making such a bold choice, i found those sections far too often to be frustratingly difficult. so much so that it took me out of the whole experience. There was another section that had you running away from something but the main character was running and weaving through obstacles at what felt like a light jog which ruined the suspense. plus the motives behind that scene felt unrelated to the over-arching story I could tell there were many cool ideas that the devs wanted to realize but part of me wished they had kept this game more grounded to drive home the religious aspects, and then apply the more fantastical elements to a different game. if you can look past those issues then by all means please support this smaller team. i would happily be on the look out for any future projects but just know that it's not going to be exactly what you expect and it may disappoint.

A game about faith, evil, god, punishment, and mental illness. This stylish arthouse-style title blends pixel art and chiptune music with hyper-realistic graphics to tell a story about a nun and an escaped convict in search of miracles. The predominant graphical style is hyper realism, with dramatic set-pieces comprised of uncomfortable close-ups (where characters look directly into the camera) and wide angled shots implying that someone (or something) is watching our titular protagonist, Indika, at every turn. The ending is both shocking and abrupt. It is not uplifting, not simple, and the combination of the point system and the ending lead to some interesting interpretations of the narrative. Game play-wise, you're looking at fairly straightforward puzzling and level navigation, with the pixel mini-games functioning as bridges between certain sequences. The pixel aesthetics give insight into Indika's past and are for the most part short and sweet (racing, some rhythm-based platforming, etc.) Achievements are straightforward and there's a chapter select to allow you to pick any levels you'd like to replay so there's no worries about missing anything. If you like experimental story-telling in games, this one is an absolute must-play. Thanks devs!

Short storytelling experience w/ innovative puzzles; requires average reflexes. Pros: * Really well-done worldbuilding and voice acting. * Puzzles were usually simple-with-an-obscure-twist. (ie: *headscratches*, then "Ohh, now I get it!") * Great puzzle mechanic of psychosis & prayer effecting reality. (sadly, only used twice) Cons: * 4 hrs long. Meh: * Character development could have been more explicit (lots of awkward pauses; in-character, but still), but was interesting. * Contains a few chase scenes and minigames that require moderate reflexes. (so, I died several times :P) TL;DR: If you don't mind it being really short, and love storytelling puzzlers, 8/10; else, avoid.

I really wanted to like this game, but there's only about 4 hours of gameplay - it's more a cinematic experience than a game. The pros are strikingly beautiful visuals and fun puzzles, cool worldbuilding, good voice acting. Cons are deeply annoying minigames (you can turn them off now), short playtime, and honestly not the most engaging thought experiment in the end. Some trigger warnings probably should have been included for sexual assault. Buy it if you know you're going to pilot yourself through a 4 hour movie, dont buy it if you wanted a game.

i've always found orthodox christianity very aesthetic. the play takes place in dark, foggy, war-torn 19th century russia. the atmosphere of the play is amazing. basically the story of the play is about a nun who has a very bigoted upbringing and lives a nightmare life, and on her journey she meets a criminal, their paths cross, and over time she discovers evil and goes back and forth between evil and good and the conflicts she experiences. you lose yourself in the devil's incredibly clever, witty and engaging monologues.
