You can tell me to get gud, but this doesn't feel rewarding enough to make up for its brutal difficulty and unforgiving design, not to mention a few small imperfections that really start to pile up towards the top. I've cleared Getting Over It 50 times with less trouble than this.

The map is very artistic, When you going through the certain parts of the map, you really feel like you are achieving something. Controls of the ball really feels like you are in control, so if you are new to this kind of game type it is perfect.

The game has some interesting mechanics that are fun to play with. For the type of game it is trying to be, it was surprisingly forgiving, even to the point of feeling too easy at some points. There were a few points though which took a while to overcome, but with practice it became manageable. There was a steep increase in difficulty in the end to where it caused me to spend over half of my playthrough just getting past the very last obstacle. There seemed to be an attempt at creating a story, but it felt largely unnecessary and not fully realized as it did not add much to the experience. Overall, it was not a great experience, and not worth the money for me. TL;DR: Just play “Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy” instead, that game is a masterpiece.

This was a fun challenge, with pretty balanced difficulty, only took 4 hours. I love the way the ball looks when you fling it, it was the main reason I got this game. This is certainly an interesting getting over it type game in the sense that out of the 6 of the games I've played, this is by far the easiest to make progress, but also the easiest to loose a ton of progress. Though I think this game has some issues: -The
double jump
is sort of hard to figure out how it works and isn't explained to you, as it does not work as a normal jump. I eventually did figure it out I think but I think it should have been explained. Though not a huge deal if they thought figuring it out was part of the fun. -Every time you reopen the game you have to hit the levers again (this is annoying) -Every time you reopen the game the sound setting resets (it's loud) -Why is the retry button where the "resume" button is in most games -Why is there no confirm to the retry button (take a guess at what I did) -The portal sound plays even when you just get near it and don't actually go through it which is kinda weird (This is only mildly unsettling, I don't really care) -Biggest issue: The camera does not follow you fast enough when falling, yet there are ledges in a specific section made for you to save yourself on, and if you fall more then about a screen and a half the ball goes off screen and you have to guess where you are. -Can't see very far above you, and for the blocks that disappear below you (especially at the very end) that's really annoying. I think this game would benefit from more maps!

There is one key problem, and that is that it has a cursor. Thus, if you hit the edge of the screen while aiming, you simply can't launch harder than that. That is a problem in a game like this.

It's a difficult game, not due to bad controls, no the controls are great, its hard because it was designed well. It is enjoyable. I still haven't beaten it, though I've gotten fairly close to the end. I will beat it someday, but that day is not today.

I just finished the game and I can share my experience: First of all, the concept of the game is awesome and in my opinion, if it was done well and fully refined, it would be same, or even more popular than Jump King. In my opinion, the biggest problems so far have been: - settings interface too empty (3 options that don't even save when we exit the game), - no change of scenery and a very short map, - no achievements, so there's no point in actually playing the game yet, - no checkpoints and changes in scenery to make progress visible and the game gets boring quickly :( - the game's difficulty changes too much (the game's difficulty varies throughout the game, it's hard at the beginning, then it gets easier, and at the very end it's definitely too hard). - the controls are a bit strange and even broken at times: (- the mouse off the screen blocks aiming the ball, - the ball's texture breaks when the ball falls to the ground, - when we hold the left mouse button while falling, we cannot aim the ball on the ground and when we release the LMB, the ball flies left or right, - the camera refuses to move up in the most important moments of the game, - sometimes the ball bounces off the wall and sometimes it doesn't, - the ability to bounce off the wall when falling is useless and hinders more than it actually helps.) I hope that the author is still working on the game and will update it in the future because the concept of the game is really good. I'll be waiting :P

This is a lovely game. Challenging enough to not be easy, but not extremely difficult. An enjoyable experience overall. Just beat it; will be playing again.

Mighty fling is a foddian game of aiming type, where you drag your mouse to aim and release to launch the ball. Although the game has a projected line to see where your ball will launch, there is still a part to master where you can do a little correction in the air with your "double jump". The map is pretty, but can be punishing at time. There is a permanent checkpoint during the map but before reaching it, you can have one fall that reach the start of the game, and another long fall from the end to that checkpoint if you are unlucky. The fall happen really fast and the camera doesn't follow your ball fast enough which makes it impossible to recover with your double jump. The camera is also a permanent issues in the game, in section where you need to be fast, sometime the camera doesn't show you the next jump which can be quite annoying. The mouse is stuck inside your game, which might be a design choice, but makes it harder to play having to do wider mouse movement for big jump in succession. I finished the game in 2.8 hour and loved it, but there are small issues that can make it harder and more annoying for most people.

Itching for a good platforming game that takes an unusual angle of how the gameplay for said platformer plays out, Mighty Fling is a hard tower-based climber that bears the spirit of Jump King's most revered difficulty but tones it down in a couple of unique ways that makes it surprisingly more approachable for those looking to dip their toes into the more challenging platforming games out there. For starters, you control a white ball that starts off in the bottom of a very tall tower whereby you escape from the cage it's inside using momentum brought forward by a tried-and-tested 'click and drag' approach to aim where the ball goes and how far it goes via the strength of it determined by how far you drag said click from it's original spot, after which the ball will, indeed, be flung instantly in that direction! Now what makes this a couple of steps easier (or, as some of the more cynical of gamers out there would likely claim, more 'fair) is that a most handy visual indicator of where your shot and the trajectory of it will align roughly, as this can be used to give those in need of that extra assistance a little fighting chance in some of the more difficult platforming obstacles (of which the first proper challenge is not even that far away from the bottom of the tower!) that await within the heights of the tower. Furthermore, a perk that Jump King does not have is the ability for one to adjust their ball's direction mid-flight, as this allows for quick-second decision-making that could very well save you from a big fall as well as allowing more experienced Mighty Fling players to take shortcuts with the right knowledge and precision, definitely a handy feature to have as far as how challenging this platformer can be! Speaking of which, the overall challenge from this game is certainly a couple of leagues below that of Jump King's much harder DLC towers, albeit I would make the argument that this tower here has it's difficulty spread across certain parts as some segments of the tower are noticeably more difficult to pass than others, as each fall has the risk of sending your ball a great distance down if your luck is bad enough to be in the wrong spot! Although it is a relief that the halfway point does offer a near-guarantee safe checkpoint of sorts, which should ease the anxieties of those dreading going from near the top of the tower all the way right down to the bottom again! Now, despite being a pretty good platformer of the vertical kind that has a unique style of gameplay to it that also balances challenge with extra aids in the form of a visual indicator and the ability to fling again mid-flight, Mighty Fling does have a few flaws in that it is surprisingly easy to accidentally quit your current session and restart the whole game from scratch, with no confirmation button in sight. Also the sound and resolution settings reset for me each time I booted up the game here, having to manually change them back every time I got back on to give it another shot. Finally, it is rather disappointing that there is no 'secret' extra-hard content as the last segment does give a taste of what truly difficult platforming for Mighty Fling can be here, as it would have been a nice incentive for New Game+ players to have to go back up to the top of the tower a second time, only to discover a whole new extension has been added to it alongside more of the witty and charming characters that this game has spread across the scale of the tower itself! Otherwise though, I would safely recommend this unique platformer that takes some form of inspiration from Jump King for those looking to see if they have what it takes without being too insane of a challenge for the slightly more casual of players! TLDR Version: • A unique platformer that offers a new perspective into the scene with controlling a white ball through 'click and drag' methods that is easy to pick up but hard to master (+) • Challenging gameplay that rewards those with patience and determination whilst being easier than it's inspiration, Jump King, by adding in a visual indicator for more casual gamers (+) • Lovely retro pixel graphics that help one to reminiscent about the older gaming days whilst being polished up with more modern software and techniques (+) • The ability to affect the direction of the ball mid-flight allows for quick saves from otherwise bad flings whilst also doubling as a method for professional players to take shortcuts with added risk and reward (+) • Fun characters that are spread throughout the tower that add charm to the world of Mighty Fling (+) • There is only the one tower available currently and it appears that no further content for this game will be made (-) • Settings for audio and visual appear to reset every time you close and reboot the game at a later time, causing unnecessary nuisances which could have been avoided (-) • No extra content for completing the tower that could have served as a way of extending gameplay beyond the initial sessions of gradually making your way up the tower and taking full advantage of Mighty Fling's more punishing obstacles (-) • Ability to restart the game is made unfortunately easy to accidentally trigger as no confirmation screen is offered when wanting to start over from scratch (-)
