Great short game about collecting exotic items and seeing xeno animals. Short and sweet, there's no time limit so you can take your time getting everything you need, but the collections can get repetitive.

Even though the gameplay isn't much beyond exploration and discovery, this little gem is uplifted by the quality of its writing and the variety of things there are to find. Definitely worth the $6 it asks for.

This game was a pure delight. I thought the writing was amazing, witty, completely unhinged, sometimes poetic, sometimes screwball. A lot of people say it is "chill" or "relaxing" but I actually found it kind of manic and obsessive in a really good way. Certainly addictive, it felt like a vacation! The atmosphere was really special, and the side-stories via the "emails" were charming. I don't think I got nearly all of the references embedded but certainly I noticed a few very nice ones including throwbacks to "Void Pyramid" which I also played and loved (totally different energy but same conceptual magic). Really captivating. Also not too much of a time sink,,, It feels exactly the right size and is not at all bloated.

I am just loving this game!!! Yes, I just refunded it, but only because I found out I can play it on my android phone too. So I am going to buy it for my long trips in the car. It's perfectly relaxing, easy to pick up, lots of amazing writing. I have always struggled to find good android games, so this one is the perfect hidden gem for me!

it's a fun little exploration game with a ton of funny characters and description, with a fun chiptune soundtrack to boot. recommend! (if you like this I also recommend his other games Alien Squatter and Void Pyramid).

the best version of this type of thing. It's like the exploring and collecting side of gameboy pokemon without the RPG, and it works. To me, the quality of games like this depend on thoughtful level design, aesthetic, and good writing. This game nails all three for me. It's a bit short, but I think it's a good length for what the game asks you to do. It's exactly what it looks like so basically if you like what you see in the screenshots you'll probably enjoy it.

Good collect-athon style game. Very relaxing and satisfying. The only things missing are achievements. (Would fit perfectly with the collection markers and wide variety of collections.)

Quirky and relaxing game based on exploration and collecting. You try to spot Xenos, the flora and fauna of the Bermuda Triangle (where you are vacationing) and also collect eggs, videogame cartridges, nuts, collectibles (lol) and precious stones. Then you sell the eggs to get funds to buy gadgets that allow you to find even more xenos. The nuts add energy to the amount of stamina you'll have the next day to keep exploring (your energy is actually measured in steps, a new day starts every time you deplete the amount of daily steps). The graphics are a mix between NES and Gameboy Color and very charming. My only pet peeve is that the music is too frantic and clashes with the relaxing atmosphere of the game (so, i play with sound but without music). The best part of the game is the lore of the xenos and the collectibles, full of absurdist humor that made me laugh out loud several times. Very recomendable.

this is an amazing game and i loved every second of it. and that's only partially because i'm in it. if you see the NULL FACE, be sure to say hi and give me something to chug. willy elektrix is one of my favorite developers ever, and i was so excited when i learned he'd be doing an expanded version of the similar game on his MEGALLENNIUM 5-IN-1 cart. i sure wasn't disappointed! this is exactly my kinda thing. so what's it like? well, this is the kind of game you play when you just want to spend an hour or two a day wandering around a fun little island, spotting weird creatures and digging up treasures. (unless you're a lunatic like me, and you play it for 9 hours over a couple days to get a 100% clear.) that's really all there is to it! there's no combat, no puzzles, it's just a fun and easy little luck-based game where you collect eggs and nuts, buy items to help you find all the xenos, and talk to the great characters living on this wild island. some people in the reviews here think that gets dull quickly, and i don't blame you if you're the kind of person who needs a little more. but for me, it's more than enough just uncovering all the bits of weird and hilarious writing that Willy is always putting out. this game is absolutely jam-packed with it, with 240(!!!) xenos of various types to find, each with their own funny description, plus coins, merit badges, journals, eggs, claw machine prizes, fossils, gems, weird video games, and even emails from your friends and little decorations for your camp which change based on which character you're playing. if you're like me and you love games where you scan or collect stuff just to read the fun descriptions, a la Katamari's amazing collection all narrated by the King, this might just be the game for you. i found it to be a great and cheerful diversion from the harshness of our current time, and i really did adore every second of it and fall in love with all the weird creatures and fun characters all over the island. plus, here's the thing: it's only 6 bucks! if you end up getting bored before maxing out your collection, that's fine, isn't it? it's cheap, so you can just play it for as long as it's fun and then put it down until you feel like it again. that's the kind of laidback game it is. don't let yourself get frustrated just because it takes some time to track down every last little thing-- just relax, explore and enjoy the island with its great music, fun graphics and awesome writing. willy elektrix has never disappointed me thus far and this is no exception. for something with a little more game to it, why not try ALIEN SQUATTER or even the totally-free VOID PYRAMID or RAMBLE PLANET? give it a chance! there's so much life and character and sheer uniqueness in these games, i don't know how you could resist its charms. you'll never be better than me though because I AM THE MASTER OF XOO ISLAND I FOUND ALL THE THINGS PROBABLY BEFORE ANYONE ELSE HAHAHAHAHHAHA BOW BEFORE ME

A chillax game: No stress, no pressure, just strolling around grovin' to the tunes and peepin' at all kinds of silly descriptions that make you smirk, grin or go "Oh dear!" and then grin. P.S. Actually. quite a good thing to play close to bedtime cause it involves no physical stimuli of the demanding kind. but is sufficiently nutritional for your dream-imagination centre.
