A very well deserve Big Fat Negative review. BE WARE THIS IS A SCAM! This is NOT a Remaster nor a Remake!! This is only a reskin, textures only mod! It is exactly the same very old game, with all, and I mean ALL the bad & errors of it with just a reskin. A very bad game, with a texture mod is still a very bad game. Only the visuals have changed. The game was hated back in the days because of it's many flaws. Terrible controls, terrible hit-boxes, terrible input, terrible, timing is off, terrible platforming ''ideas'', uncontrollable jumping high, etc.. All of this are even worse in today's standards, to the point that Steam should never allowed such a broken game to ever sell on their platform. You can press jumping and he will not jump. A platform game where jumping is a gamble! The game also does not allow you to change direction from left to right after jumping. If you are falling you can change direction (left/right) but only 1 second AFTER you press the button will it change direction. The hit-box attack you have is so short, it's almost your body hit-box. This means you have a very short distance between [Hit the enemy], [Getting Hit by enemy] This is all you can do wrong with platforming game and way more. I have played many hard platform games for the achievements... this I couldn't even finish the first level! Yes you read that right, I could not bother to even get a single achievement. IT IS THAT TORTUROUS! Even for FREE I would definitely do not recommend. 20.-$!?!? A SCAM pure and simple.

I didn't realise you can tab between the original graphics and sound and the updated version. I'm not a huge fan of the updated version but it does look good. However, the nostalgia that the original gives me is unparalleled. It's a harsh game but you do have 3 gameplay options that make it easier (the only 1 I looked at is the infinite lives). However, you may miss out on some achievements - which it warns you about. It's pretty seamless to transition between the 2 versions which is cool. Definitely gonna finish it but just wanted to leave a review first.

I 100% the game in about 6 hours. The game has everything you need to suit in and play. It offers you infinite lives and reworked controls in case things get too hard for you. The only achievement you will struggle on is the Champion one, but the patterns are the same, so if you remember their patterns, it is doable. The graphics are lively and great! And they nailed it with recreating the old graphics. There is not much I can say for a game that is Tiny. You could beat this in a sitting, maybe in around 45 minutes to 2 hours.

realized very late that if you press V you can play the retro version, which is SO MUCH BETTER :) i like playing it with infinite lives because it's so frustratingly hard, i wish i had infinite lives when I was a kid playing this! the modern version is horrible, it's too bright and the visuals feel off, even the movement feels really bad, but in retro mode everything gets solved, the game should let the player know that it's easy to switch to retro mode.

I guess I couldn't call it nostalgic, since this is the first time I've played Alex Kidd in Miracle World. It was a really interesting game, with a lot more variety than I expected out of a game from 1985. The new art has its charm, but I prefer the music and aesthetic of the original release so I played it like that. You can't do that in Boss Rush mode which is kind of lame, can't even change the music to the classic version, but this was a really good time. It's a quick and easy game to 100% complete if you're into that kind of thing. There's full language support for multiple languages which I also appreciate. I firmly believe that this version of the game, even if you're playing with classic sprites, is much easier than the original release but again, I can't say for sure since this is the only version of this game that I've played.
