To the game's defense, I only played the opening. I was excited for an ancient Greek Action RPG because there's so much potential with the mythology and history, but the following took me out of it:
[list]
[*]Combat feels stiff, even with a controller
[*]Certain actions are unconventionally mapped
[*]The voice acting is underwhelming
[*]The story is influenced by The Iliad (Trojan War), with interesting..liberties. Maybe it's to speed things along but if it's going to be used for story telling purposes, don't rush the battle with Hector.

It's okay but gets old fast. Like the game doesn't offer you anything new after 5 hours and it became very boring.
I'll give it a bad review if I paid full price.

Achilles Legends Untold - 100% Completion Review
Score: 7.5/10
After fully Completing this game i'll give some Pro's, Neutrals and Cons
Pro's:
-Has a Greek setting that fictionally covers the after parts of the Trojan War, which was quite neat considering we know very little of that time period or what happens outside of a few tidbits
-Beautiful environmental details that really showcases the Greek style well, with great attention to detail
-Story and game was better than i thought it be, was expecting a short game with a standard story, but it ended up being a 15+ hour game with multiple maps and dungeons and a decent story
-Music is alright
-Has voice acting, not the best in some cases but good enough
-Armor looks really nice
-Good animations
-Good blood effects, so many devs these days ignore this aspect
-Invincibility roll is very generous
-Has Story mode for those who struggle with difficult games, though this game really isn't that hard
-Good performance, no lag and fast loading
-Decent enough crafting system
-Has a Morality: Kill or Spare System, they didn't need to go to extra mile to add this in but it's nice they did
-Didn't encounter any bugs or crashes
Neutrals: "No Score Change From These"
-Combat is ok, not really good or bad just fine, average, not many skills, game focuses more on passives
-Very little weapon variety
-Sprint isn't toggable and has to be held which is frustrating
-Can't turn off subtitles, which kinda ruins the imersiveness a bit
Cons:
-Curse status effect is just a straight up unfair negative status effect, not only can it slow you down but cut your health as well, forcing you to go all the way to a shrine to heal, easily the worst part of the game
-Status effects are too easy to acquire even with tons of resistance
-Spears range are too short, the entire point of a spear is the long range but the range is so short their just not worth it
-Mini-Map is way too zoomed in, why do developers always do this?
-Relic Symbols for the Relic Chests are too hard to hit and in some cases dang near impossible
-Enemies, especially wolves, can stun lock you in large groups, causing you to get knocked down constantly
The best way i can describe Achilles Legends Untold is a more modern Titan Quest but with Achilles as the main star, now if your someone who loves Greek Mythology or Titan Quest like me you will most likely like this game as it has tons of Greek mythos and lore in it, and given that it was made by such a small developer it really is quite impressive how much they managed to do, overall i enjoyed the game and do think it's worth buying, but as always, It's..Up..To..You, and i'll leave it at that (^_−).

Reminds me of Titan Quest but with better graphics. Fun way to chill and pass time, not a lot of strategy or puzzles involved, just good ole hack and slash.

Never played an top-down Isometric type games before, but am a big Souls-like enjoyer. I gave this game a try was pleasantly surprised. Challenging but doable. Simplistic yet with some interesting world-building and enemies scenarios.
Overall I think this is a decent game and it has kept my attention. 7/10.

One of my favorite Isometric hack and slash with souls like elements and a progression system that rewards exploration.
Played on steam deck and had a great time engaging with the story and every boss felt unique.
