Very immersive, detailed, hack and slash RPG. Huge, and I mean massive maps of locations and dungeons, it is insane how well designed this game is.

Definitely a hack & slash game but in true spartan style. A Good game not to be missed.

For the sale price it's absolutely worth it as a Steam Deck game. First time I played it, sunk 4 hours into it the first evening. Luck the Steam deck ran low on battery or I would have been up will past midnight. I think I could understand the negative reviews if I paid full price since there are better games around AUD$40 out there. For AUD$20 or less this is an excellent addition to a Steam Deck library to have some solo play fun on the go. Would go great on an international flight :D

This game is a cheap ARPG rip-off with Souls-Like things slapped on top of it as after thought, just because it is cool and trendy to do so. This would be good as a 5€ mobile game to pass some time, but as a PC game this is leagues behind any reasonable and acceptable state. First off, the story is really boring and uninteresting, I would have never expected something like this. I mean, you have Greek Mithology to pull from what the heck. 6 hours and not the least tension build, char development, interesting dialogues or cutscenes. Graphic is barebone at best, horrible at worst. It seems basic assets have been taken and mashed together, but the cheap ones not the good ones. And this includes char movement, attack animations, emenies interaction and npcs. The Skill tree navigation is gross, nice idea to have these constellations but did you really need ths circular view? It gives headache all the time, plus what is this thing of 3 points on some nodes, 1 on the passive abilities it makes no sense to me. No original equipment, topping of that you only collect weapons while armor is just a one "click to upgrade" thing. One very attractive part of the Souls (and ARPG in general) is the marvel of discovering new equipment and finding cool combinations. I could not find anything aside boredom. Very nice compilation of side fetch-quests, together with a ridiculous hand holding toward next point. In the end, you do not make a Souls Like game by just having a dodge button and things dealing outrageous damage. This game needs a lot of work, I cannot comprehend the positive review if out of naivety or complete lack of objective understanding of gaming.

This game needs a massive overhaul. The endgame has culminated in a chaotic mess of things that just don't gel with each other. The crafting is largely pointless, the weapon and armor upgrades end up being exorbitant, and the general feel of the combat is a mismatch of ideas that might have sounded good on paper but strain against each other in practice. Add to that the terrible inventory UI that gives you everything in a single list that can't be collapsed or scrolled by more than one item at a time (try multiple panes sorted by category next time, devs), the teleport UI that doesn't keep your current location in the list, and the skill tree that is both barren and redundant, and you've got a game that is tedious, exasperating, and tiresome at every opportunity. Not worth the disappointment at any price. [edit] AND THE VOICE ACTING! Wow, is it bad. I would have been happier with Banjo-Kazooie or Peanuts style 'wa waa wa wa waaa' instead of the atrocious block-of-wood scenery chewing on offer here.

Lack of a proper tutorial and solid first storychapter to pull me into the game. I don't like it when after 1 hour of gameplay I don't know if the game has it to pull me into it. I rather try my luck with another game.

Honestly, this a great little game and worth a shot for any souls-like or diablo/exile-like fan. Its small, a bit basic, but the devs have put a lot of their souls and passion into it and it shows. More of a souls-like than an ARPG in my oppinion, and they've taken all the basics and even improved on some such as no stamina drain out of combat (looking at you DD2) and free instant reset on the skill points. The combat is fun and mostly fluid, and overall its quite easy (great entry into a souls-like game for people afraid of the difficulty) Solid 7/10 and it kept my attention till the end.

It's a good game giving an alternate story of Achilles' fight in Troy, it fuses souls-like with hack'n'slash and it does it pretty well, Achilles: Legends Untold reminds me a lot of God Of War (the old ones, the good ones) I just wish it was a bit more polished, it has great scenery, excellent sound and audio design, great soundtrack (I only wish there were more tracks) good atmosphere and graphics, good variety of weapons and special abilities, good level design as well as boss and overall enemy design. With a lot of areas to explore and loot, the maps never feel empty. wherever you go there's gonna be either a bunch of enemies or some chests or gold etc. The game is easily 100% achievable within 20 hours, so for those who want a game that doesn't drag too long yet they like to explore and complete all the objectives of entire maps, this is for you. The combat is satisfying, combos vary based on the weapon you carry, you either dual weilding axes, swords, spears or you can blend in different weapons together, 2 handed swords, or one handed weapons and a shield. There are also special abilities tied to certain weapons, all in all the combat variety is very good, especially in late game where you can slaughter everything with ease. Last but not least, I want to talk about difficulty, I was surprised when I saw that such game didn't take the lazy route of simply buffing enemies' hp and dmg. Don't get me wrong, enemies indeed need more hits to be killed, and they also shred your bar, but they are challenging because they act smarter, faster and a lot of times they have new abilities. On the other side of hand, the game suffers from low budget voice acting and cutscenes (which is understandable) enemies have the same voice lines and voices. You'll hear the same guy saying the same thing whether he is a soldier or a creature of darkness. Some dungeons are almost indentical, bosses are extremely easy on normal difficulty but some outright impossible on hard difficulty, some normal enemies will literally one hit kill you on hard difficulty, I mean.. why? To give a clearer view, in the last map of the game the enemy numbers massively increase, which means every 5 meters there will be a group of enemies, that leads to face multiple groups at the same time, now imagine that 2 of them can stagger you and 2 others can one hit kill you. It's a good challenge but if that's the case on hard diff, what happens on expert? They kill you with eye contact? Anyway I think I cherry picked a bit with this one, it's not a big deal at the end of the day, it happened to me 2-3 times so I think it's alright. All in all, for a game of this caliber, Achilles: Legends Untold definitely delivers what it promises and while not being a mind blowing game, it's a good experience and an easy game to add to your collection of perfect games. I would recommend even on full price if you are heading for 100%. Overall: 7/10

Finished on the hardest difficulty. Flat, boring, repetative and simply not worth your time. It`s not completely bad, you just dont want to waste your time on this when a lot more better games are around. Buy on sale.
