As a long-time fan of WWII flight sims and arcade games, having grown up playing titles including the likes of the B17 Flying Fortress games, Combat Flight Simulator, Air Warrior 2 and Warbirds, let alone some (in my opinion) all-time greats in the form of MicroProse's European Air War and the IL2 series, this game has great promise for and interest to me, given it's been many years now since I last played any WWII flight sim/arcade game worth my time, with the IL2 series being the last one, and that was about 12-14 years ago now.
That being all said and done, my single biggest concern right now, after trying to play through just the 1st 2 tutorial missions, which has become a strong concern and which is solely keeping me from really getting into the game, is plain and simply the lack of any permanently saving and clearly intuitive option to toggle on or off any sort of "inverted" Y-Axis controls for upwards and downwards pitch, like how a real aircraft actually behaves, for any control input chosen (i.e. controller/joystick, or mouse and keyboard combination) along with a more stable and intuitive way to look around independently of whatever direction the aircraft is actually flying in.
This concern for me is applicable to both the aircraft's primary Y-Axis up/down pitch controls themselves, as well as for being able to look around to track what's going on around you, regardless of which viewing mode preference you are playing in. I believe that being independently able to accurately and stably look around, and having that ability to do so made to work accurately but separately of the primary controls themselves would be a huge improvement for maintaining orientation in even the thickest of combat situations, particularly for spotting hostile threats that are looking to target you.
If improvements were to be implemented in an upcoming patch for these observations I've made, along the lines of a more 'realistic' or intuitive way to look around independently of the primary controls (i.e. having an option to enable using a joystick's hat switch to be used for this, or allowing the keyboard's keypad buttons to be able to be set to stably look in a specific direction, like directly looking 90 degrees to the right or 180 degrees to the left along the wing, or 270 degrees to your 6 o'clock/tail) and not having to rely on the risk of hypersensitive mouse inputs occurring that can cause the screen to spin out of control and therefore causing you to quickly become disorientated, then I believe this game has strong potential to really stand out in what is now a sparsely populated genre of gaming.
I'd like you to think of my suggestion for how to actually implement this recommendation as being just like how you independently can/will move your head and body about the place to look around and outside your car, all while you're still driving your car in a straight or forwards direction.
If this suggestion for improvement can be implemented then this game without doubt will become an absolute must play for me, as after many years of not playing these sorts of games I really hunger to shoot down enemy aircraft, in huge numbers and as quickly as possible...
