I tried to like the game and played as much as i could bare, but i cannot recommend this game, sorry dev. I love vampire games, so as soon as i see a new one being released i directly purchase them. Technically the game runs fine, solid fps, nice skills, smooth gameplay. The problem is that the game is very linear and it is very boring. No real challenge and constant the same environment.

Very fun dungeon crawler and the bosses are extremely fun too! Seems to be a glitch at the spider boss preventing me from progressing any further which is unfotunate

This game is well done, it runs smooth and flows well. Has lots of loot to find with hidden areas on many levels. Enemies go from easy to oh shite run. Well worth the cost and lots of fun to play. If you like vampire style dungeon diving games don't miss out on this one.

Another Gem from WRF Studios. Keeping the Vampire Dungeon Crawl alive and even evolving and establishing a world with tons of exploration and lore. I'm super excited to see what the future holds for this game and all of the future projects from WRF Studios. Thanks again Bill!

So far this is an odd but enjoyable game, especially on sale. It runs well and definitely has that "indie" feel which is not a bad thing at all. I actually really enjoy indie games and supporting developers who make interesting and outside-the-box kind of games.

I'll suggest it, but with some hesitation. I'm a fan of WRF games and own his whole catalog, but they can be wildly split in peoples opinions of them. This isn't one of his best, but it's far from his worst. It's glitch free, visually appealing, it has easy enough controls and a fair amount of weapon, vampiric power and level customization. What it lacks is a solid story, an engaging character or personable villains. It is also only 'sort-of' a vampire game, so if you're looking for any sort of presentation of a traditional vampire experience, look elsewhere. Still, on sale and with some forgiveness towards the negatives that I mentioned, it will be a solid-enough time killer. Finally, if you're on the fence, try his free game Lost City of Vampires and you'll have a good enough idea of what you're getting for your money.

Hello fans, having completed Vampirem yesterday I have to say I’m impressed. The game was developed by one person only but seems totally fleshed-out and bug free, and it is really funny to play. The story is not the longest, but for only 13€ more than OK. I highly recommend giving this game try, and the developer is really responsive and caring for constructive critics concerning this game. Gameplay is astonishingly fluid, it’s really funny guiding Raven trough the dungeons, warping around and slaying enemies. The warp skill reminded me of the good old Jedi Knight/Jedi Academy where you could use Force Jump to get to locations you would normally not and find great extras there. The only thing that felt odd and slowed the game play for me is the health/mana system here. Health is called blood, mana is called essence. Both does not regenerate naturally (there are items to regenerate your health up to a certain percentage of your max health, but we’ll get to this). Blood comes from finding and using blood stones and blood potions found from smashing urns and barrels. From the very same and after killing some enemies you find essence crystals which recharge your mana bar. You cannot use the blood stones directly, but you have to burn essence to convert blood into health using a special healing skill. The blood stones get emptied while doing so and need to be replaced or, in rare cases, refilled. Not bad in the first level, but gets worse as the game continues. After the first few dungeons, I found myself constantly low on essence AND blood. The fights in the game aren’t easy and even trash mobs can pack a hefty punch. Even if you have a filled blood stone but are low on essence, you cannot heal yourself. If you have full essence and plenty to spare in your inventory but have no blood stones, you cannot heal yourself. If you’re low on both, that’s where the fun starts. Using any of your skills takes essence, too. This leads (for me) to not using most of your (well-designed and useful) skills most of the times because you need every ounce of essence to keep your health up. While healing through blood stones and recharging your essence via crystals works well in the beginning, it does not in later levels… it seems to be based on raw numbers: while a certain amount in the beginning is enough for two complete refills, it will get you only 25% later as your max health and mana increase. I went to to a boss fight with 250 essence spare in my inventory and two epic blood stones and thought I was well-prepared, only to find out that the essence was enough for about one healing and left me without essence thereafter. For me it would feel better if a percentage would be refilled, not a raw number of points. During nearly every boss fight, I got completely depleted of both blood and essence, so no healing and no using skills at all, leaving single melee as the only option. While it its possible to regain essence (especially because after dying every urn/barrel has re-spawned) replacing blood stones is very difficult, so chances are high you go into round two against the boss with some or full essence but still no chance to heal. And during the story line, boss fights came in relatively quick succession, so I hadn’t recovered from the fight yet and had to fight another boss, with about 1/3 health and essence. Regeneration items are not that helpful… I had several of those equipped and reached 16% health regeneration, which gave me about 70 health. Not bad, kept me going vs. trash mobs, but was excactly one hit from most boss attacks. Combined with chronically empty essence bar, this leads to: rush in, melee once or twice, hope you’ll not get hit, repeat until either the boss or you are destroyed. A magelike playthrough with more casting and less melee seems to be impossible… there is no way you’d find and regain enough essence. I don’t know how to solve this, but the developer should think to get rid of blood stones completely. Healing skill should still take essence but no stones anymore. This way you still had to balance between healing or attacking, but at least you CAN heal if you got essence. Also, there should be better ways to regain essence. Loot from urns/barrels is totally random, so you can either find many crystals or not enough to keep you alive. Maybe essence should regenerate, at least until a certain amount (maybe depending on an unlockable skill in the skill tree? Raven is regaining his power during this journey, this could reflect this.). Or maybe items with regeneration should regenerate both health and essence, or there should be items with blood/essence steal on strike, not on kill. There is life-steal on some items but with +2 PER KILL it’s next to useless. Also, loot of anything not a ring or amulet could be more common. I found exactly one boot and one armor in the whole story. Weapons drops are bit better, but could also be more common. And please please please: town down the snakes! One single snake seems to hit harder than a boss, and a trap with three snakes often mean certain death if you're not with full health. These are just a few suggestions that the developer could think about to flesh out the game experience. To conclude: I had much fun playing Vampirem and can recommend it. It sometimes feels brutal and a bit rough at the edges, but it’s more than worth its cost.

A very fun ARPG with a lot of neat systems like warping, really fun combat, great random level design and fun writing. WRF has done it again!

It is with a heavy heart that I have to say this. I admire this man so much but for this third game, it feels as if he tried to get rid of everything great in his previous two games, It feels like this was his first outing, and then he improved upon it to make the other two. Because: There are no outdoor areas anymore. In fact, the logic of an "area" is completely gone. There are no characters up on the surface to get quests and items from. There are no sewers, temples, water, anything like that that connects anywhere above ground. There is no choice in which dungeon you are going to go. Because the whole game is a bland labyrinth that keeps descending with no rhyme or reason. No choices, no clans, no dialogue. This could still make a great game if the mechanics of the dungeon crawling was as complex as the previous game, but all the skills and items are simplified as well. I never felt like I made a meaningful decision about gear. I'm not gonna refund just because I love his previous work so much and I want to believe he will build on this in the future. Yeah I know its a cheap game but why do this after releasing two masterpieces for the same price?

This game is linear, meaning that you can only play the game one way. You cannot store healing stones, if you drop them to be recharged, it will only charge one stone and you lose the rest. Recharge stations are rare. There is no map to the dungeons, so you are required to remember every where you have been. There is no save feature, unless you exit the game, and then you have to restart that dungeon over again. Once you pass a check point, you cannot go back, so if you miss something important you are just screwed. You meet your first human in the library about 5 hours in. Though the game will not allow you to drain her, turn her, or even seduce her. Overall the controls work great. The graphics are not too bad, but could be better. The biggest problem though is that you cannot save your game and that it is linear.
