It’s a fun game but it still needs some major adjustments. I really like the foundation here, like an animal crossing with more to do plus a simple Pokemon type of game, but I’m going to focus mostly on where I think it needs to improve before leaving early access. Right now, the game is very grindy. It incentivizes you to talk to everyone in town every day, water your plants every day it’s not raining, battle everyone every day, play with your blobs every day, feed them what they crave every day, etc. I feel like I have so many boxes to check every single day otherwise I miss out on progressing some kind of system that day. I personally would just like to be able to take this at my own pace and not run all over the town making sure I get my relationship progress for the day and everything. But to make it so would be a fundamental change to the gameplay structure. For a long time I would spend my days just checking as many of the boxes as I could until I realized there was a setting to increase the length of days. I turned this all of the way up and it’s much better now in terms of feeling rushed but still just as grindy. Also, I find it very frustrating that I cannot teach my blobs moves. This needs to be added asap. Just like EV/IV training in Pokemon, ability capsules, various mints, etc. we should be able to improve our current blobs. If you have a blob that only can progress their attack and speed, you’ll never be able to improve their defense. So you’ll end up with a blob with, for example, 15 attack, 17 speed, and 4 defense. Why? I like the idea of coupling their skill progress with what abilities they use, but then you have to give players a way to improve all of the abilities. It’s okay if it’s expensive but this should be added. Maybe there’s a way to do this further into the game but I haven’t seen any sign of this so far and I’m already 20 hours in. To further the last point, it feels like you’re incentivized to discard your blobs once you get better abilities / immunities. What if I like the one I have? I just have to put it in storage or throw it away and get nothing? That feels really bad. I want a cozy game hanging out with my squishy compadres, not a breeding optimization simulator with frustrating rng. I feel like everything takes too long currently. Leveling people could maybe be improved if you could give them gifts to earn additional hearts. It took me forever just to get to the first copper tool upgrade. Etc. I’m not a fan of the thick-bottomed shape of even the guy characters. Can we make their lower bodies less huge? I feel like there should be a place to go to find tutorials. For example, I played for 10 hours before I realize what the shield symbol and 50% meant on a blob’s attack. It doesn’t make a lot of things clear so I just eventually figured it out on my own or eventually watched a video. Maybe there should be a way to reroll your egg result from breeding. This would prevent some people from reloading a save to get a better outcome, which I’ve refused to do so far, but this may leave me with worse results. Can we get fast travel directly to the farm? I really don’t like the camera kind of wanting to rest at certain angles and not just letting you freely rotate it. Why can’t we just move in any direction and have the camera at any angle when playing with a controller? 20 hours in, all of these blob abilities like sprinkler and bomb would be very useful but I have no idea how to get them other than by breeding them and hoping I get lucky. Can we get a sprinkler device that I can just build or buy? I’d like more automation of the checklist items in general but I definitely want a clearer path to getting blobs with various abilities such as the bomb which seems to allow me to get to new areas. I’m only even aware that these abilities exist because I had to google how to get past the rocks. All in all, it’s a fun game with a great foundation and a lot of promise. I just think it needs to address some pain points and it would become something really great.

I'd give it some time! I think it has potential. Currently I find the gameplay loop a bit grindy, and simultaneously a bit shallow. No farming levels, no evolution, and feeding your blob doesn't really make it stronger (just tankier)- battling does, so you grind in the ruins because everyone else will get stronger each time you beat them. I look forward to seeing what the team does with the game, because I love a combination of monster trainer and life sim as a concept.

I am really enjoying this game! Even in early access, it's a lot of fun to play. There are tons of things to do: Farming, mining, critter battling, social stuff--it's all in there. Kind of like a cozy version of Stardew, but much less stress! I highly recommend this game.

This game is in early access and still has a good amount of things they plan to implement but even with the game as it currently is it is amazing! There is plenty to do and enough of a variety that I have fallen into a mini obsession and put in a lot of hours very fast. The has farming, mining, shopping, adorable creatures, plenty of dialogue, Pokemon-like battles, cooking, and more. With the creators implementing more things and allowing player input/ open dialogue with developers via discord server I am extraordinarily pleased.

Loving the game so far. There are some things I can't seem to access yet as it says its early access so hoping its added later on. To me its a mix of harvest moon with RPG games sort of like Rune Factory. Best of both worlds - farming simulation with adorable animal characters to raise and battle. Was a bit jagged when playing it with controller when I tried so went back to keyboard. I prefer controller more but the simplicity of the keys that function everything is easy to get used to.
