goddamn masterpiece, if you love games that have elements of survival horror, you gonna love this, i cant believe this game didnt get more attention, every person i talked to really loved the game, the problem is not many people know about this game, such a shame, if only more people knew about this game.

Great game to play in bursts, be prepared for doing some backtracking and you need to pay attention searching for mcguffins needed for puzzles. Atmosphere and pacing are good, overall scratches the survival horror itch. Shotgun is satisfyingly powerful when fully upgraded.

If you really like oldschool survival horror then this is for you. Lots and lots of amazing and invigorating backtracking and time wasting :D But the atmosphere is great.

Ima just say with my current hours, this game is meant to be hard, there's a ton of backtracking from what ive seen in chapter 2 to go and put stuff in chests, and learning how to inventory manage, despite it being tiring i am enjoying this game, but genuinely i am so anxious of dying and losing 30 minutes to an hour of gameplay. Unless you play with checkpoints, which I didnt pick, i decided playing the hardest difficulty on my first playthrough would be fun, and tbf it is but yeah save up on ink, you're going to need it.

Highly recommend if you're a fan of older Resident Evil games, but also don't shy away from this one even if you're just curious. Great difficulty settings as well if you're worried it might be too tedious. Also, if you are craving that vintage look, this game works great with Reshade (set scanline filter to 270p and enjoy)!

Exceptional art style and the survival horror mechanics are executed really well, criminally underrated game

Bleak, Tense, and also the game straight up called me a Coward.... That's okay though. I love you anyway, Conscript. If for whatever reason you ever played old-school resident evil and thought "this would be really cool if this had a WW1 setting and was really depressing" then this is the game for you. I had to take several breaks during this game despite how interesting I found it because it could just be a lot at times. I should also mention that I experienced a couple technical glitches here and there - particularly one where the screen would violently flicker until I minimized and re-opened its window but other than that the game mostly ran fine

I'm very pleasantly surprised as to how well this top down survival horror worked out. So far the game is challenging but it has a good pace and surprises. Lots of quality of life over other survival horrors (minus the inventory space, since this is tied to progression of course) combat system seems simple and well thought out. AI is simple (few times broken) but balanced in challenge, plenty of items that serve different functions, some simple and rewarding stealth elements. The sound and visuals are also extremely atmospheric and fit very well the tone of being in the middle of WW1 trench warfare. Amazing experience enhanced by the Steam Deck handheld form, and overall solid recommendation for any survival horror fan.

This game is good and really got me back into survival horrors. The setting is great and I like the more real approach to the war rather then it having monsters. Even if in later chapters it gets a bit silent hill esk with the environment. I also like the fact that the main puzzle to get the true ending ties into the story. There are some flaws like combat at times can be super awkward I would be on top of a German solider only to miss by a mile. Or sometimes you can just be hit randomly form long distance from trench raider swings or be shot at through a wall once in awhile. The main thing I hate about the combat is the kicks that the soldiers will do. These simple kicks not only do damage but also are inconsistent about the speed they come out at and it tends to get annoying. Also the rats I didn't find them to annoying since they will basically ignore you if you leave dead bodies by doors. So it made most of the burn bodies things useless for me except for maybe one chapter. Overall still its a great game a solid 7/10 maybe a 8/10 if the woods chapter and the last weren't such long chapters.

I like the gameplay loop but the amount of backtracking is simply over 9000. also power went down at my place for a minute and i've lost ~1h progress. Enable checkpoints on your first playthrough, don't hurt urself
