Love the BL franchise one of my favs by far this game is great story and mechanics wise but the amount of stutters and lag and frame dropping crashes everything is just so bad that i can hardly play it anymore and its almost been a year since the game released and nothing to fix it. This is from running with a 4060ti and 5060 super. Game in its state from launch to now hasn't changed one bit for any bit of optimizing the games performance. most people i know have only been able to make it through 1 playthrough and thats not including bringing your VH to max level. i was able to after about 200+ crashes the game put me through overall game for pc is not worth and wont ever be sadly since they PROMISED us months ago for updates to fix it and nothing has happened.

Gunplay is good, story is ok, but for a shooter game i expected to play at least 120fps, my rig isnt the greatest, but on low settings im not even getting 100fps at all, wish it had gotten better but in terms of performance it just sucks

modders have put more effort into optimising their game than gearbox did/is. maybe we need to wait for a stronger ai model? putting the only sniper character behind a paywall is pathetic

I love the borderlands franchise. I really wanted to like this game but i wont lie, i am sure i'm close to finishing and have more cons than pros. I waited to get it until it was on sale since the CEO of the company said " if you were a true fan, you'd fine a way to make it happen" when the pricing was outrageous when it first came out, that put a bad taste in my mouth. But now putting almost 100 hours into the game, i just... its too much. there is too much going on, you have no feelings towards the characters, old and new. i HATE that its just one big map instead of going to different planets, there are too many glitches, i feel more frustrated playing than actually having fun. it doesn't have the spark anymore. The gameplay just isn't like it used to be. At this point i'm just ready to finish the game then uninstall it. These are just my personal opinions.

It's no Battleborn, but the game isn't bad; I like it better than BL3, at least. I got it on sale, but I probably would have paid full price for it if Pitchford hadn't done everything within his power to alienate customers. As for the performance issues, my PC runs it fine, but that's just my subjective experience. Proceed with caution if your hardware is a little older.

Unless you can get the super deluxe for under $30, STAY AWAY! Pros: The shooting is good. The action is solid. The graphica look better. Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE! Story sucks. Characters suck. Humor is cringe. Open world does nothing for the game, except for wasting your time running around. Optimization is a mess. Campaign balance is ALTROCIOUS. Characters all suck on early level. Loot drop rates are ♥♥♥♥. The combat is filled with gimicky lazy design. Mobs have perfect accuracy even behind cover. Open world content is hard locked behind campaign progress. I could go on for hrs listing things and explaining how this game falls short in most things. It will annoy you more than you will enjoy it. I absolutely regret getting the game at 50% sale it is not worth even that...

Borderlands 4 huh... another one of those games where I really wish there was a "neutral" review, rather then just positive or negative. PROS; - Gameplay is indeed the best it's been in the series to date. Gunplay, classes and abilities, movement. Without question on this front, it's the best in the series. - Fantastic color pallet and art-style. Very vibrant. - Good sound-design and OST. - Voice acting is solid. Some series favorites return. (Looking @ you, stacked-hat lady.) - Storyline is good. A more serious tone this time around, with some of that classic Borderlands humor. - Tons of replay value. Several classes. Lots of collectables. Finishing the base game without DLC on my first class took me just shy of 80~ hours, and this was with skipping essentially all of the side-content in the last zone of the game, at this point I was simply checked out and wanted to finish the game. CONS; - Lets talk about the elephant in the room. The performance. The performance in this game, is EGREGIOUSLY bad. Don't let Randy Pitchford force-feed his bulls*it down your throat. Frame-Generation is NOT an excuse for a poorly optimized, undercooked product. This is sheer banal laziness. I have a very powerful rig, and many others with the same have documented, it doesn't matter. It's practically a requirement to play this game at any remote level of consistent frame-rate and visual fidelity. Inexcusable. This is the ONLY game out of 100s I own that if frame-generation is disabled, it's nearly unplayable. INEXCUSABLE RANDY. SHEER. BANAL. LAZINESS. - While the gun models do look good, the scopes/ADS in this game are just terrible. Some of them are so convoluted in appearance it makes using ADS like playing the game on Pain-Olympics mode due to interfering with your actual targeting so much. What are you guys thinking with this? Indifferent; - I found most of the side-quests in the game to be pretty underwhelming with mid writing. Not to mention tedious. - $130~ for what amounts to the complete version of the game is a bit steep as far as price-point is concerned. IN CLOSING; - If you're a fan of the franchise, this is it right here in terms of gameplay. The cost of admission however is high, and the performance is without a shadow of the doubt the most embarrassing effort of any one dev-studio on any large triple-A game to date. Probably ever. MMV. I may or may not come back to this in the future when the DLC goes on sale. It's going to be a while, though. 7/10. It'd be in 8 but man, I'm really not kidding about the performance problems.

After 70+ hours and replays after replays and countless minutes trying to find a right settings to make this game run decent on my pc, it just runs so damn poorly on ultra low settings its just unplayable! Yes my pc is old but still its so unoptimized! Maybe on my next pc Ill give it a try. I cant recommend this game at all!

So I finally decided, via the reduced summer sale cost, to give it a shot. Performance still terrible. What, about 9 months after release? Frequent stutters on FSR performance mode. Yeah, I'm going to pass.

i love the borderlands franchise, but this game is just a virus on your pc... i finished the game last year and haven't played it since, so i wanted to see if it got any better now. Before i even got into the main menu, i had to sit through 2 shader compilation screens, another one in the menu and another one when i hit play., 4 compilation screen before you even get into the game is insane.. but you might say, "well ofcouse, its a optimization to fix the bad performance from the launch", and you would be right, thats the exact same thing i said to my self... when i load into the game, what do i see?? 40fps on ultra performance dlss and medium settings, well im cpu bottle necked, so i turn off upscaling to move the load to the gpu, 50fps, i lower settings to the lowest of lows, turn off shadows, vegetation and every setting to the lowest and what do i get?? 58fps MAX. I CANT GET ABOVE 60FPS ON THE MOST POTATO OF SETTINGS... mind you i dont have some insane high-end pc, but i have rtx 4060 and i5 12450h and i can run most of the modern games like RE requiem with rtx on medium-high settings on 1440p with around 60-80 fps, on borderlands 4 i get 58 max with lowest of lows settings on 1080p.. that is insane if this wasnt bad enough, after i turn the game off, it leaves a ZOMBIE PROCESS on my pc that uses 100% of my DGPU, 8gb of ram and 80% of my cpu doing nothing and i couldnt have known if i didnt look at the task manager.... VIRUS
