Not a bad game... just never out of debt? My duck will forever work and never be paid for work... making it impossible to afford classes... so I'm confused if that's a glitch or if that is the actual game?

In the proud tradition of games like Princess Maker, we have here a new fantasy daughter raising sim. This one has all the charm of similar games in the genre with the usual mix of subtle stat evolution that is just complex to bridge education, career, random events, quests, and various items. Here this time time is handled a bit differently, being divided into a duck stage, a 13, 15, and then finally a 17 year old phase, each with an evolution in capacity, career, and difficulty. The fairy tale animal to human element fits well with the genre, as does this games decently large cast of npcs and contests. At this point with over 7 hours of game play I have only seen 2 of the apparently 70 possible endings. Also of note, there is a rogue light element as your attribute increase slowly rises with repeated game play, as per the mythos of the game. I won't say that this is a wildly different game than princess maker, however, I am confidant that fans of that game will enjoy this one. The setting and mythos within the game are unique to this game, the game concept is not, but that's more than fine. Still hoping someday a game in this genre will allow us to continue on with game play after the raising process is complete-how cool would this be if it were only the prologue to a larger game? But till then, and pardon the solicitation of idea, games like this are a nice bit of immersive sim, and I'd gladly recommend this.

Great game with very good replay value. It's a niche genre, but if you like fantasy child/daughter raising sims, you should probably give this one a go, especially as it has such an interesting premise and so many possible endings. The biggest fault I have with the game is that trying to discover all 70 endings to get to the true ending is really ass, and I find that your daughter isn't endearing enough to spend hundreds of hours to get her to her true ending. It's really irritating to do a 1-2 hour run, and get an ending you've already gotten before. I might pick up playing it again to completion some time in the future. Would recommend 100% for people who love the genre.

This has been mentioned before, but there is no overstating how irritating the combat and exploration system is.
You will draw cards to end combat even when you are unable to retreat. You want to draw stronger attack cards, because stronger enemies will only take a single damage from you basic moves. The problem is you have no ability to deck build or change which cards you draw. This means while enemies can do consistent damage while you can easily do none in a turn.
The way exploration works is really awkward. Compared to Princess Maker you get a lot less value for time when exploring, but the game clearly wants you to get events for good endings. Also, exploration leads to combat so see above.
All the other parts of the game are fun: the growing up, the jobs, the training, characters, etc. but I cannot overstate how much these two poor systems drag the entire game down.
I do not recommend.

This game is a psychological nightmare. Basically you have to see your daughter, the child you gave the best life you could to, the one you consoled when she was sad, the same child you saw winning a singing competition despite being so nervous... then bam. She's gone. You get another egg, which you know being the same child, and you start again. And again. You see this bright little girl become an adept sorcerer and then just becoming an unspeakable eldritch entity.
These developers could have been the original Silent Hill devs and I would not be surprised. No happiness to be found here. Only dread.
There is no happiness, there is only trying to make the egg hatch at the right time so you can get Luna instead of Sol as a patron goddess for a change.

Love the way the story unfolds as the days pass, however desperately needs a way to make the day pass faster for later evolutions.
The alchemist ending was 10/10

Nice game for its price, but battle system is too rng, frustrating actually.
I was fighting the warden in the west side of the exploration map, all of my frickin cards are only the flee or hide option, no attack option whatsoever, and I don't even get why maxed out strength girl deal 1 damage when using that 1 energy sword slash thing, like it should deal more damage in proportion to the strength or something idk man
I made my duck baby into an undefeatable killing machine, she won all the tournaments, had a sword made of crystal and a holy armor.
In her backpack there were trophies of mythical creatures, a fang from a white dragon and others.
She had great reputation and respect of people from around the world.
In the end, when the time came to let her into the world on her own.
She decided to become a clown.
Juggling balls in the middle of the city square.

princess maker/daughter raising sim kind of game. Is unique in that you raise a duck into a young girl. Very cute and difficult in its own right. The more ducks you raise the better your next duck is like in Chinese Parents. Very quack very cute.

Lullaby Days is a "Princess Maker" game. A Princess Maker game involves you becoming the parent to a young girl and managing her daily schedule to guide how she develops. Once she reaches a certain age, the game ends and you are given a unique ending explaining what the future looks like for your daughter (e.g. you nurtured a beautiful, charming girl and she ended up marrying the Prince, becoming a princess). You are encouraged to replay many times to try to achieve all the endings.
Despite enjoying the Princess Maker genre, I decided to quit playing Lullaby Days half-way through my second playthrough because of a few frustrating design-decisions.
Firstly, I really struggled with the narrative of the game. You are immediately told that a demon king has been terrorising the land and no one else has been able to stop him, so you are tasked with raising the ultimate fighter as a last resort. Then... it's basically never mentioned again. You can just completely ignore it and raise your daughter to be an artist or a singer, and no one cares. I even tried raising a fighter, maxxed out all her stats and killed tonnes of monsters, and my daughter got the "miner" ending - where's the god damn demon king?!
Also one of the "unique" things about the game is that you are raising a magic girl who goes through several stages of growth. You can raise her from a baby, to a young child, to a teenager, to a young adult. To do this, you have to dedicate a certain amount of time each day to focus on growing. I don't get the point of this mechanic, I thought you would have to be strategic in when you grow to get the best outcome, but growing only helps you, always - your daughter becomes stronger, can take on more jobs, and unlocks more events. On my 2nd playthrough I ignored everything else at the beginning and just grew my daughter up to the maximum age, and there seemed to be no downside to this. I don't really want to spend 15 minutes at the start of each playthrough just clicking "grow" over and over...
Most Princess Maker games have some sort of dungeon or exploration mechanic where you explore and fight enemies. In Lullaby Days, you are just put in a side-scrolling forest and you can go left, or right. You literally just run in one direction until you come across a monster or chest or something. It gets old - fast. I feel like the devs didn't want to put effort into developing an interesting mechanic.
Lastly, and most annoyingly, the combat is awful. Every round the game generates three random actions from a list of everything you have learnt up to now. However this includes many useless options, like "run" or "talk" which are for escaping the fight, which isn't useful if you are, for example, competing in a martial arts tournament. If you raised her magical abilities then her physical attack will hit for 1 damage, but there's no way to take it out of the pool. Even if you trained her physically, the higher level enemies will start taking only 1 damage from your lower level attacks, so you can only do damage by getting lucky and drawing your high level attacks from the pool. You honestly end up with like a 1-in-3 chance to actually be able to hurt your opponent, it's really dumb.
