Feels very bare bones currently. Lot's of polish still required. Gameplay, ship movement and third person camera feels awkard. I'll consider buying it again once it is in a more polished state with decent content.

Honestly, I downloaded this game after playing Fishing North Atlantic. Figured it would be similar and just as entertaining to pass time with a ship life game; I asked for a refund with less than 2 hours of gameplay. The fact that before I could do anything my ship was stuck against the docks and unable to do anything about it and was basically just stuck at the start of the game was such an annoyance that it completely ruined the game. Seems like even with updates and more since I tried it people are still having the same issues as day 1 drop. It's game breaking issues that just cause it to be a waist of time and they clearly haven't figured out how to adjust for the issue or fix them in any way since the game released while many are still having the same issues. Sometimes it says mostly negative reviews and sometimes mixed but if you read them it is clear that nothings actually being fixed and the concerns from the community are either being ignored or the dev team just doesn't know how to adjust for the issues that the game has. Adding more things to a broken game with game breaking bugs while refusing to fix the bugs just gives off Activision vibes. When you can't even start the game off cause your ship is stuck in docks and can't get away from the edge at all regardless of effort made this is a huge problem and clearly a well known issue as many people have mentioned it as an issue. It is 2 months away from a year into the early access game release and yet has many of the same issues as day 1 drop including game crashes for bug reports and more. When you can't even report the issues with the reporting system you'd think something in this time would be done to address the issues while holding back on releasing more things to the game. Like I said adding more to the game doesn't help when you have game breaking issue that are ignored. I get it is a small dev team but why continue to push out new things when you haven't fixed the prevalent issues that ruin the game and cause new players to refuse to even bother with the game. I hope one day this game turns out to be what would be expected and actually playable until then asking $30 for a game that you can't even start playing is well absurd for lack of nicer terms. I continue to follow the game and yet to me it seems nothing will be done to address community concerns at this time the beautiful graphics of the game will only take you so far. Until some of the main issues are actually addressed and fixed this game is a washout and I wouldn't be able to recommend it to anyone until they actually fix some of the issues. As someone who continues to play early access games all the time I have good patience for issues in early games; however to watch as nothing it done about the problems and more is added as if the problems don't exist puts a bad taste in the mouth and is the same reason COD lost hundreds of thousands of players and why so many are hating Activision today. When these main issues are actually addressed correctly and the game is made playable I might return to attempt a second try but at this point I'd rather not waist my time. If the Devs see this please just deal with some of the big problems and let the rest wait until the game is properly able to be played. I cant make any content on a game I can't play and I don't enjoy talking down a game that has so much potential. One day it might be ready to start playing until then just follow the progress and wait till it might actually be fixed enough to start.

good concept. but cant recommend as i keep getting fatal crashes which close the game on long haul cargo transports (45 -60 mins). although the game auto saves. the accepted and loaded cargo does not. so reloading a previous save. loads the boat where you were but with no cargo. also a fast travel or time accelerate needs to be added to the game. instead of letting the game run in the back ground for long voyages.

Still a long way to go. It is not in a buy now state imo. The devs are working and churning out updates but it is far from done. Give it through the summer at least.

Shiny new content but unreachable because we're locked into a campaign system with broken beginner boats and a painfully slow progression.

I picked up Ships at Sea right when it launched, but early bugs made it tough to fully enjoy. After revisiting it a few months later, I was impressed by how much it's improved. There's still work to be done, but that’s expected with an early access title. The game has a lot of potential, and from what I’ve seen, the developers are consistently releasing updates packed with great fixes and improvements. it is quit grindy but seems fun with a partner.

Game still needs extensive work and even more extensive bug fixing. The tier 1 fishing boat is incredibly hard to control in -any- level of waves. It is almost impossible to lineup with your longline to pick it back up. The tool you use to pick fish off the line, stopped working completely and I couldn't collect 4 lines of fish to make money. Submitting a bug report crashed my game entirely. If you do cargo, it takes forever to get anywhere and you don't make nearly enough money for the amount of time you spend traveling around making deliveries. People say the Fish Farms are one of the best way to make money - but you can't make the money to buy them. The tier 3 boats look awesome, but you can't hardly get to unlocking them. The game looks great, when you're not trying to fight the controls of a tiny little boat to pick a line back up. I fully understand that it is an early access game - 283 days of early access means I should be able to progress somewhat.

I enjoyed "North Atlantic" and "Barents Sea" game on PS and PC very much, fun games, but this, this is a total cluster f##k. I have been playing from the start, on both published and Beta, and I'm sad to say, this is the worst pile of poop I've had the misfortune of playing. The graphics are really nice, especially with a beefy machine, the concept and idea of the game is next level from previous games, and I seriously want to enjoy it, but it just doesn't work. the physics maybe getting better from first day release, but they are still way off any enjoyment, there's more fun sitting on a beach in the middle of winter, in a force 6 storm with your rod in your hand trying to catch fresh water salmon. Every update causes more bugs making the game unplayable, and having to wait again for fixes. You lose or are unable to use previous game saves, so you have to start from scratch again, which is really annoying considering the difficulty and the time it takes to earn XP. I strongly recommend NOT buying this game for a least another couple of years, Misc Games might have sorted most of the problems out by then.

In the latest update you guys added some tier 3 ships, including a tier 3 service boat. However, map spawned missions such as towing/firefighting/repairing are not working. You guys stated that map spawned missions would be available after refactoring process was finished, and now that it is, map spawned missions are still broken. This game is nowhere the state you can charge $30 for it. Nonetheless, I will change my review once the things I mentioned are working properly. I simply cannot recommend the game.

Great early access game, very playable and not many bugs or glitches, however i will say for anyone who gets this game to please have patience with the devs, its important to remember that they are only a 3 man team who work very hard to give us good quality updates with minimum issues
