This is a good example of what Need for Speed is, a fun arcade racer that flows well and has a somewhat cheesy story.

Overall it's a great game one of the best modern Need for Speeds, the only thing i have mixed feelings about is the way you upgrade your cars

other than the weird upgrading mechanic, the gameplay in itself is still fun. Probably the best open world experience in modern nfs.

Genuinely fun, I enjoyed it. 12 yo me would have questioned why its at 100% completion though.

This is where new EA NFS shit started. So far its better than newer titles. Not as bulky, still fun, not way too many customisations. Not a simluator so far. Not overwhelmed by all the millions of things so far. So far, its a good game. I suspect it will turn into a poop once I go in too far. Let's hope it does not.

NFS Payback is a mixed bag. The gameplay is fun, and the heist missions are some of the best in the series, but everything else? Not so much. - Story? Absolute garbage. Cringe dialogues, predictable plot, just skip the cutscenes. - Token system, Pure RNG. Grinding for upgrades is a nightmare and not worth the effort. - No open-world cops. A massive letdown for longtime NFS fans. - Cop chases? Too easy. Unlike the past NFS games where cops were actually a challenge, here they're pushovers. - Car damage? Non-existent. Feels like a step backward. - Graphics? Decent. But customization options are lacking. - Overall? Way too easy. No real challenge, just flashy action sequences. If you’re here for arcade style racing and fun heists, you might enjoy it. But if you’re looking for the thrill of classic NFS cop chases or deep customization, you’ll be disappointed.
6/10 – Fun but forgettable
Game has good graphics but also has slighty blurry textures (aa is not implemented well and without aa it looks even worse) , a fine story (similar to fast & furious movies).Upgrading cars takes time and some luck (through the story you won't need exact card sets but getting highest level cards without all proper stats always is perfectly fine). The game has tons of open world activities which is very similar to Forza Games , Ost is not bad , and lastly there are 6 Class stuff which is Racing,Drag,Drift,Runner,Offroad,Speedcross(Racing Runner, Drift are most fun imo). Even though is has aged a bit Payback is underrated and better than most modern era NFS Games.

Good but not great. The old MW and Carbon are the best for me. It's hard to beat them.
