Rogue Legacy 2 Reviews
Rogue Legacy 2 is what you'd get if you mashed Rogue Legacy and a sequel together. Every time you die, your children will succeed you, and each child is unique. Your daughter might be a Colourblind Archer, and your son could be a Pacifistic Chef. Either way, one of them is getting conscripted.

Insanely better than the original. The music, controls, and general level design are amazing. The amount of classes and interesting loadouts makes this very replayable (as a roguelite should)

Unfortuantly, if you haven't played this and you have played 1, this is an upgrade in every direction. To the point were I wouldn't consider playing one again.

A rouge-like that does not take itself to serious! Great replayability until you "finish" it once, then it kinda struggles to keep it interesting imo

Very fun, great mix of platformer and roguelike. There's a range of different characters to play, all of which play differently, and you unlike more along the way as well.

Like it calls its self, it is an amazing rogue game. It really does have unlimited replayability with a ton of classes and random ability's. This makes it feel like a different experience each and every run. I cannot stress enough how fun this game is with unique enemies and bosses. 10/10

Played the first one and had a blast doing it. Figured I give this one a shot. It's more open and offers more then the first one ever did! The fact that they went above and beyond to add so many new classes as well as build upon the world and create different modes is just awesome! If you played the first one then I serious recommend giving the sequel a try. It really does offer a lot of replay ability as well as adds new elements that can easily confuse you. On top of that you can make things more challenging as well if you should so desire with the new thread system. Over all I say a solid 8 out of 10.

Review after watching credits roll! This is a game I played off and on for years and just started taking it seriously a few weeks ago. TLDR, when I think of a roguelite game this is the classic definition. You always start the castle from the beginning, you upgrade all of your skills between runs, and the bosses stay dead until the castle is clear. Its a simple formula, but I like it.
Yeah, but why would YOU like it in 2025?
Frankly the game is charming. The developers were clearly having a good time.
The "Legacy" aspect of this game is that each time you die in the castle, your character is actually dead. You have to pick an heir to take up your quest. All heirs are not created equal. While one run may have an amazing Ronin with a katana, the next run may be a colorblind bard with IBS. That has gameplay impacts, you won't see colors and you'll fart a lot. It helps keep things interesting.
Otherwise the game is responsive and fun to play. Works great on the steamdeck if you are on the go.
So yeah in conclusion, its simple, fast, and fun to play. Its a great palette cleanser between bigger games.
