I have been playing since Open Beta and have enjoyed the game both alone and with friends.
Pros
- Extremely fun and deep synergies between weapons and skills.
- Lots of characters to explore and keep gameplay fresh.
Cons
- At high reincarnation levels the range of usable weapons decreases significantly. The only stat that really matters IMO is having a high rate of fire. By the end of act 2 you usually have enough lucky shot chance that each bulley from your small will far exceed the damage of a sniper rifle headshot.
- Some of the bosses are super fun, Lu Wu and the Abyssal Serpent are some of my favorites, but others are essentially damage sponges with extremely repetitive mechanics. The Golem and Gluttony are the worst offenders IMO, hiding behind pillars is not very engaging and you have an extra boring time if you’re running a spray or lock on weapon, the latter of which do not work on these bosses as all.
- Balance at high reincarnation levels feels off, some elite variants are needlessly tanky, but with my spirit levels maxed out I can one phase most bosses with a good start. It’s just very strange to kill a boss in 30 seconds flat and then spend 3 minutes spraying bullets into a shielded resistive regenerative elite. It would be cool if elite bonuses would apply to bosses on higher reincarnation levels. I would also love a nerf on defensive elite buffs or a change that makes them less likely to appear in multiples.
- Trapped chests are the worst thing ever. the parkour ones are not so bad, but the trap ones, especially in act 3 with the rope, are so tedious, they slow the pace of the game down to a crawl and the damage from traps is needlessly punishing. The challenge of the trap chests should be figuring out a puzzle not losing your shield and half your HP to a boulder that moves at mach 4. I usually just skip them because they feel very out of place.
- Enemy spawns in a wave during wave events are very spread out and it leads to a lot of dead time waiting for enemies to spawn on or having to look for them in corners. I would honestly prefer they just dropped the whole wave on my head at once.

I miss being able to play this game. even as a solo player, it was always entertaining with mob variance. The weapon upgrades were always fun to tinker with as well. Hope to get back to it soon, but play it for me while I can't <3 it's worth the time and money.

Good game to learn to play shooter keyboard and mouse games if you're new to keyboard and mouse. Fun, progressive difficulty and character improvement. All characters are viable in all difficulties, some weapons are much stronger than others, and some are downright garbage. You learn which is which by trying them all. Good game 10/10

One of the most unique and fun rouge-likes out there, I always kept coming back to the game.
I appreciate that the game is still being updated with so many interesting and fun additions added into the game, even after all of these years.
My main motive for purchasing this game was the art-style of the game, which is simply beautiful, combined with the unique and interesting looking weapons and enemies, the game really stands out, especially in of a large genre of rouge-likes.
The game also has multiplayer as a feature, which is not commonly seen in this genre.
I highly recommend it.

Peak game, very borderlands inspired. Gameplay becomes kinda messy at the highest difficulty when you enable all available content and modifiers, but I suppose that's to be expected. It's really fun to increase all scales up to crazy levels and fly through late stages with insane combos. I find myself constantly coming back to the game. DLC's are pretty neat, not too much content is gated behind DLC only characters really. Newer characters do kind of powercreep old ones, but the game is still beatable and enjoyable with all characters and all weapons.
Once again, peak game and still gets consistent updates.

only 18 hours in for this review and this might be one of my favorite games on steam.
I can see it getting a little repetitive after playing for so long, but so far, it's a great game.
Hopefully they keep up with the content, and maybe make some levels have options of which paths you want to explore so it's not all on one track.
I will say, I am not crazy about the new StarLink addition, but the owl was a cool character and being able to re-roll scrolls was a nice touch.

20 hours in I thought I was nearing the end of the content, but then I "beat" the game only to find that was all essentially baby mode and now I get to play the other 99% of the game.
