I did not really enjoy the game. It was mechanically uninteresting and felt like it was a story in search of a game. I almost feel like the 4USD sale price I paid was too much. I finished the game in under 2hrs and most of that time was backtracking from place to place to turn in or advance side quests (all of which were "take this here"/"go back to the other person").

i originally found this from some tweet from the devs behind this talking about the release of their mobile port. anyways, i find this silly little game very charming and nicely detailed with care. it reminds me a lot from earthbound for its story and forager for the game-play. the game is even (somewhat) replay-able, which is quite neat. although i think that some care should've been taken into better key-mapping and some other tid-bits, its pretty awesome. will be making a second reply for their other game in the series soon too

Great game, loved every aspect of it. While short in story it has the challenge after beating the game which is pretty cool. Overall nice art and loved the jokes. 10/10

Such a fun and cute game, I love it!
there's puzzles in it which makes it challenging and the bosses are pretty hard (for me) but that's the fun part!

I don't love pixel graphics but this is a cute little game. It is worth the $3 I spent on it, but I wouldn't spent the full $15.

While it succeeds in being a short and humorous experience, Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion is less successful in juggling more complex concepts while attempting to have a simple design. Mechanics are surface level but they still try to imitate ideas from popular genres without fully fleshing out their identity, such as having an entire Roguelite section with combat and hitboxes designed for a less involved adventure. The linear progression, lack of challenge, and reliance on fetch quests can also be grating. However, the witty referential writing, and music especially, were surprising highlights. More average than bad, but would only recommend purchasing when deeply discounted.

Very fun, little game. The government is corrupt, as always. The hints into what happened to the "hoo-mans" are a nice touch.

4/10 - Fine game - bit bland tho
Only worth getting on sale imo, which I did for £3 iirc - Would not think it's worth full price.
Majority of the game is running back and forth just getting x item then go back to Mayor Onion then rinse and repeat until the end... very boring repetitiveness.
The few boss fights sprinkled in different areas of the map were decent enough - but mostly same gameplay loop - hit them with plant bombs or sword/shovel.
Some ok yapping side characters or easter eggs haha.
Sucks there's no keyboard & mouse support - Played mostly on Steam Deck which was decent.
