If you've lived in Japan, buy this. If you've been an ELT Eikaiwa sensei, buy this. If you're possessing melanin in your skin, buy this. Super high difficulty level for most of the wrong reasons. Heal points are few and far between. No real way to see how or why the two rage modes are filling. No real rage mode battle tutorial or practice mode. Some of the translation seems to have a lot of artistic liberty in the translation, making it more... racist that it really is. The Yakuza characters never actually say "lynched" but it's translated as so. There is no way to level up your character so all the harder mobs just take more time and dodge dodge dodge. If it weren't for the EXCELLENT Japanese culture parody/criticism and immersion, this would be a hard game to like. Devs: Imma need some cheats or something to make Cleve stronger because this difficulty curve is getting less and less fun. Maybe a parry or blocking system would be more fun. Right now it's just dodge dodge dodge.

They took the money and ran. It seemed like it'd be a fun game too. Very disappointing that it turned out to be a scam.

I was not sure what to expect, when I started the game at first I was not impressed as I found some small issue but as I progressed it looked OK, it's like Top down third person beat them up sort of game. Game have some issues but it won't stop from enjoying it, story looks interesting, it's about Cleve who is an African American living in Japan after losing his job and after some events end up working for Yakuza. Options cannot be selected from menu, graphics won't be great but it's not bad either, I haven't encountered any bugs so far. Player starts from Chapter 17 and later first three Chapters are playable, gameplay is not that easy but not hard either. For me story looked interesting. I decide to keep this game.

This is early Access but still feels extremely janky and rough. More like a technical project than a release. Some nice art but that won't carry it through the rest of its shortcomings. Tries too hard to be stylish and cool and it just doesn't work. Combat is dull, very simplistic and the hits don't carry any weight. Dialogue is generic and cheese. The designer seems to labour a subplot of the antagonist being mistreated as a teacher of colour in Japan, while I've no doubt this sort of racism exists, the game bangs on about it quite a bit at the start. This is unfortunate as there's really no need to include any of it. It doesn't add anything to the game or plot and just comes across as a way to express a personal grievance to a captive audience. It made the game uncomfortable and a bit cringe to play with it's stereotypes. Really didn't enjoy it will unfortunately refund as I Don't see it appealing to me, even further along in development.
