Very challenging Shoot em' Up' for a good price. Great for an Indy project!

Not a terrible little game. For the price, only an a$$hole would not recommend. It's not going to be amazing or be labeled a hidden gem or gain a cult following... it's probably worth about double the price before I would down vote it. So smart move on the devs keeping it so cheap. Its got a nice challenging feel to it, though its not really as hard as it feels, it just is decent at giving you that -holy shit I cant believe I survived that- feeling...and no you are not that good. Don't get the wrong idea. But its nice to FEEL like you are that good sometimes...that is what strip joints are for after all...

So it's $2 and an indie developer so let's keep our expectations real. Anyways, I bought this primarily to see what I could possibly develop solo and to checkout the ships which looked like and were, according to credits, made in part w/Ebal Studios Unity Assets. First off, heads up! I heard my gpu humming. This thing runs at an uncapped framerate. I have my gpu capped to use 208watts so yeah, this game was needlessly running full throttle. Next, this game has a story. It's alright, it's often cliche, and ppl say things and have good/evil plans that really don't add up. The voice acting by two or three of male actors is surprisingly good. The female voice actress knows that the writing is kind of Blah and is probably wondering why her battle-hardened dame is so weepy, and so we get a half-committed performance from her. I mean sometimes it is fine, and other times she sounds like she is halway out the door and isn't going to finish the project. Also, her mic cuts in and out. Gameplay: Hey, not overly hard. Turn off the game and you can come back to whatever level you have made it to. Thank you! This is very necessary for an indie project. Every level you start with 3 lives and you lose all upgrades from the previous level (haha, this is a dilemma I need to overcome in my own first go at a shmup). Charge system is a nice alternative to bombs. The first ship allows you to recharge your shield using the Charge. And btw, the first plane is the best plane lol. The second plane is trying to hard to be original, and it's claw blades suck. The third plane has an issue where it's bullet outputs kind of white out incoming projectiles with a misty white aura so 1st ship it is. I enjoyed the music. Nice effects. Bullet patterns were fairly standard which I can appreciate to keep the difficulty down and make you a shmup hero. Anyways, it's got that indie look and feel, but um, not bad for a small developer.
