Mmmh. This one is a tough one. I give it an 8/10 overall. It has a really good gameplay loop and the story at the beginning is rather decent. The characters are not really the thing that matters here though. The issue is that it has a rather quick ending and the one Pirate seems to be strechted too much of the runtime of the game. I actually hoped for a bit more variety in that regard. On the other hand it doesn't waste your time too much. The Ending was rather ok. I liked the tones of it, but it is rushed. Overall I am content and can say: Give it a go if you want.

The only reason I bought this game is because it was on sale in a bundle package with Planet of Lana. I couldn't stop playing it once I started. I absolutely loved it. The story line is fantastic. The characters are brilliantly made. The little twist near the end was the icing on the cake. I love open world games and there is a satisfaction with just flying around and blowing pirates out of the sky. And I couldn't get enough of toasting alien beasts with fire. I would highly recommend Black Skylands--especially to sci-fi fans.

Good story, okay combat, not many different enemies tho gets repetive.

It's an enjoyable ride. The world if split into islands that act as levels with small puzzles and secrets. Combat is a bit bullet spongy but is manageable. And the story is good if a bit predictable. It's an easy recommend, especially on a sale.

Really great game. Liked the story, loved the gameplay and nothing is boring about the art style. I think the only drawback is that the game is heavly balance in favor of the player. So you might just need to do half the game to be maxed out on everything.

bunch of mechanics were taken from the early access and much was changed including the main character from earlier builds and now i cant even get into the game as i the mouse doesn't show up or i just get a black screen.

this game is so much fun. really enjoyed it all around. hope to see more.

It's entertaining for the time you spend with it, though it loses some steam towards the end. If you like what you see from the trailer video and aren't looking for a masterpiece, I would say to go for it! All that being said, it feels like a game where the developers ran out of time and pushed it out the door. The narrative is bare-bones but functional, the combat it fine, the gameplay loop is entertaining enough. But it constantly feels underbaked and that if the developers had put a little more time into it, this could've really been exceptional. My hope is that the developers learn from this and that we see what this game could have been in one of their next titles.

This game is definitely a hidden gem that I am so happy I found a few years ago. Even though they took out some of the features, it was still fun to play a second time.

So I finished the game with all achievements unlocked. There is a lot of potential for Black Skylands and for the price i'd same it's a hidden Gem. The graphics is meh but the mechanics of the game was fun. There is a good plot to the story as well. If there is one thing I didn't like, it's the randomness of where to locate some bosses. It's a unique concept and cool but when it took you hours to find a gargantuan of a secret boss, it could get frustrating. The game also has a potential for a sequel if the devs will it.
