Characters are tiny cute bees moving around. I just watched Switchup video and looking through it, seems like there are a lot of things worth more than the price.

Amazing game, reminds me of old school NES or SNES 2D side scrolling games!! Characters are cool, levels are tough and sometimes very exhausting, but well designed. Environmental puzzles are challenging and fun. Totally recommend!

I still have no idea where to place this game.
formation change moveset ( liek standing in a column ) work, I guess? but they want you to do things like, avoid rapidly timed firejet traps as a vertical column of characters, and there's literally JUSt enough space to get inbetween two fire traps vertiocally, but your dang tower of characters sways every time you tap the controls, there's no real speed to it, there's not moving, and full speed, which makes the top guy on your tower sway to and fro, and hits the fire, which doesn't damage you - it just send you allllll the way back to the begnninng.
And all of this for 3 freekin wooden crates?
To make it more confusing, I kept exploring the area, and ended up in the literal same place I started, btu on the other side - in a door I could reach by double jumping. So i could've just gon through THAT door, and completely skipped that terriblely designed vertical fire column trap segment.
And that's kind the whole experience so far.
I'm, travelling to i don't know where
doing I don't know what
for what reaosn, or why ?>
No clue. I am jusdt randomly wandering till I cannot advance, and then turning around and ( hopefully ) finding the way they want me to go , where I find a random book person - they exchange terrible dialogue with our cast of characters, and then say " see you in tyhe library! " abnd vanish.
Only, I can;t just go to the library?
I'm liek 5 books " in " from the library, I have no idea where I started, what book I came from, where to go next - and then this problem, the combat, ~
In the area I;m currently in, are these enemies that move a bit, fart a bunch, make a huge cloud of damaging gas that slows you down, and then run as fast away as they can ( ie, much faster than you )
You can only seemingly damage them by taking a bunch of pot shoit damage from these fart clouds, and they trap you in rooms with doubles, triples of these things at times.
The combat sucks, there's no trick to it - you just hit them 1 or 2 times, and run and jump and hope you don;'t take damage, spend 11 minutes fighitng one guy because you also can't heal, and then when you finall pass this trialk, you might get a couple of wooden crates ot smash.
Thrilling.
so I'm gonna go ahead and say don't bother with this game, I haven't found a single fun thing in it yet, the art is okay,m I guess?
that's cool.
good art for a game that isn't very fun to play, and seems to have no goals, poor combat, poor navigation, and an empty feeling of navigation when almost every area I've gone to ends up looping back in on itself for no good reason.

This is definitely the cutest arwork of all games I've ever played. It looks easy but never easy, I found myself being so made chanllenging again and again which really helped me to grow patience. The difficulty of the game is just so surprising.

I want to love this game, I really, really do. I simply cannot recommend it. The concept is great, playing as numerous literary figures, and the group mechanic is somewhat akin to The Wonderful 101, where you move a whole group at once. The devs clearly put a ton of heart into this.
However, the flaws simply cannot be excused. The main issue is control, the controls are not only severely unresponsive, but extremely floaty when they do work. Combine this with the attrocious platforming and it makes for an exercise in frustration. In the very first world, the island world, you'll encounter and area where you have to jump over moving spikes, which apparently have hit boxes four times bigger than they are. Your characters jumping is slow and often don't jump at all when you press the button. To make matters worse, the art designer apparently decided to place numerous foreground objects in the way. If you get past this you'll eventually come to a lake where you jump over moving platforms, again fighting the awful controls along the way, it gets to the point where it just isn't fun at all. This would be ok if it were raw challenge but it's not, you're fighting controls and other preventable issues.
This game apparently also has numerous bugs, but I cannot speak to those as I never made it far enough to even encounter them. This one needed a few more minutes in the oven. I hate that I am giving this game a negative review, there is a good game buried herein someplace.
