First hour impression - interest “active-time” combat mechanism and carefully-designed card pool. Still have a bunch of characters locked - definitely could be hours of fun. If you are into deck builders then this is for you.

I love roguelike deckbuilders, and I've always enjoyed playing them as fast as I possibly can. The vast majority of the time there's no real benefit to doing this, and in fact you are almost always better off taking your time and thinking through your decisions. But I love the thrill of quickly reading the situation and immediately trying to find the right play to make. Well finally there's a roguelike deckbuilder for people like me. The battles in Brave's Rage are built around an ATB system taken from turn based RPGs. Everything from your actions to your enemies actions to drawing cards and shuffling the deck all play out in real time. This makes for dynamic gameplay that opens up new dimensions of strategy that aren't possible in other deckbuilders. Say for example your character in the back row is being targeted by a ranged attack and you don't have a defense ability in your hand. Simply have that character initiate a melee attack while the ranged attack is in the air and they will move out of the way and not get hit. Or say that you have a powerful ranged attack that only hits the back row but you want to target the enemy in the front row. You can wait until that enemy attacks, then use an ability to pop them up in the air when they get close, and if you time it right you can then use your ranged ability to hit them in mid-air. It's a wonderful concept that only gets better when you start to master it. Battles are thrilling and intense and constantly keep you on your toes. You're afforded a lot of leeway to get creative with how you build your team and how you attack your enemies. I will say that the rest of this game is a bit rough around the edges. The art is just ok and the random events are pretty basic and uninspired. But the core gameplay feature absolutely delivers and makes this game worth checking out.

The BEST game I bought at this summer sale.
System:
Rogue-like Deck Building X Real Time Strategy There's JUST-Guard system and combo-system too, so there's quite a lot to think about and will make you busy while playing this game. Each champions you can use have unique abilities, and there's a lot of choices to make when getting the rewards or solving a random event.
Graphics:
Awesome Character graphics is really cool, and UI is also nice.
Comments:
If you like rouge-like deck building game and if you are willing to try RTS style games, hope you can take a try. I was new to the RTS system, so it take me a bit of time to learn how to play this game, but the learning itself was a wonderful experience to have.
Some thing which you might want to consider:
- Each jobs have unlock elements which requires you to play for multiple times, and those elements will be quite strong. And it also takes a bit of time to unlock all elements. - Don't expect this to be exhilarating action game, the combat system it self is quite simple.

Such a fun and creative active combat system! Think Slay the Spire + realtime combos/blocks. Great game!

Play on 2x speed and only slow down if you're going to immediately going to play a card or you're cheating the game and yourself and you didn't actually win and you're a failure to your lineage.

作为补偿我陪他又玩了几局,两个人操控有点困难,他看不懂,我翻译又很慢,抢了几次键盘后他放弃了让我自己玩了:p Nice game, it is only Chinese, but I google the game and see it, fingers crossed~ https://twitter.com/ISVR11/status/1517380531087761408?s=20&t=PkNQDlcbzZsg85cCneSGxg looking forward to add English.:)

really fun deckbuilder, the realtime aspect adds a fresh take on a pretty well worn genre.

I really enjoy playing this game. Like the Slay the Spire, players can add, delete and upgrade cards, gain treasures as they kill monsters and bosses and trigger random events. What's interesting is that the game incorporates RPG elements. You can select an adventurer at the beginning and recruit other adventurers in the tavern to form a team. My favourite adventurers are protector Sancho and ranger Tracy. The protector can absorb damage while the ranger can do lots of damage after charing. If you are a big fan of roguelike & RPG games, this game would be a good choice.

Fun game that feels like it should still be in early access. It's playable and the mix of deckbuilder and real-time shenanigans is more fun than I had expected it to be. Playing the right cards at the right time with multiple characters while also considering when and how you have to dodge or block stuff is tricky but feels great when you pull it off. My problem with the game is that it feels somewhat unfinished and unpolished. Some tooltips are straight up wrong ("food getting used up per tile traveled" for example, which simply isn't true), some enemies have obvious placeholder-names, the "beginner-friendly" character isn't unlocked until you beat the game on the first difficulty, some concepts aren't explained at all (e.g. what counterattack means in this game), you get random achievements that you haven't actually completed ... I still recommend it, since I'm having fun with it, but I hope the devs plan to patch it some more. [Edit] Quick update to add that I'm probably done with the game now due to it being half-baked (as mentioned abobe) and also very repetitive. If you don't mind fighting the same enemies in mostly the same way for hours until you unlock some additional areas and characters, than this is for you. If repetition bothers you, then I would only suggest picking this up at a steep discount. I'll keep the recommendation on "yes" but I would go for a neutral option if Steam had one.

clearly the game was not for me, I do not enjoy quick time events in my card games (especially when perfect blocking doesn't seem to do much although perhaps some characters are better with it) Honestly everything felt clunky and not very intuitive, but I can't help but recommend the game because everything I didn't like about it felt subjective. Nothing was broken or poorly made, and I think it is worth trying and refunding as I did if it isn't to your taste. I felt there was plenty of depth and unlockables to come, I simply wasn't a fan of the base design. Still worth a try because if you do like what it offers, it seems to have plenty of content and reasonable quality that you can enjoy.
