Incredible game. The fact I love the most is that the game is deep, it feels like everything devs wanted to include is there.

A lot of fun! Story driven and fun adventure. Its really interesting to see what your choices do to influence the characters. Love the pixel graphics! My only qualm is the walking from place to place, it would be better if I could select a castle map and go to the area I am needed in. All in all this is a 9/10 game.

Short but sweet game that I enjoyed more than I anticipated. The music and writing are great, and as King Eryk, you'll face plenty of difficult choices that influence the story's outcome, including who lives and dies. I'd recommend it, especially if you find it on sale.

It is quite disappointing that in a game all about choices, the storyline is pretty much linear and it feels like you don't truly have much impact at all. The concept of the game is amazing, but sadly the lack of creative liberty granted to the player is too little for my liking.

Enjoyed this game very much. First time i tried really hard not to google consequences of my actions nor save-scum since the story is very engaging I wanted to get to the end of it. Gameplay is simple yet interesting, which is also a perfect combo for such a game.
Story made me very sad tho, i wish it was possible for a king to change some inevitable outcomes
This game wants you to believe that your choices matter and that your choices can affect the future. However, the extent to which you can influence the world is so insignificant that it's ridiculous. It's an insult to the player that there are multiple scenarios and plot points that MUST happen and CANNOT be changed in any way. It really makes you feel like you have no power over anything, no matter how much you prepare or strategize. Audry best boi.

Good game. Does a great job making you feel the burdens of being a king. Choices aren't always easy or clear and when you make the wrong ones it can really hurt. It's a pretty solid management game with charming enough characters. I do think the characters could have been more interesting but they kept it simple and charming enough to be entertaining.

I love this narrative-driven resource management-sim-lite game. It’s set in a beautifully-realised medieval world, brought to life by the gorgeous pixel art, which somehow manages to convey deep emotion through its minimalist animations. The dialogue is superb - funny, moving and utterly convincing - and choices really do seem to matter in this game. The characterisation is deeply contextual: this royal family is, like all of us, victims of their circumstances, only in their case it’s a little more extreme. The management side of the game, which bleeds profusely into the narrative, consists in handing out (or not handing out) resources to a never-ending stream of petitioners. This main mechanic neatly places you in the shoes of the beleaguered King. Indeed, a main theme of the game - the fundamentally inhuman aspect of the whole concept of royalty - means that you are often damned if you do, and damned if you don’t, and winning in this horrid game of thrones often means losing in a wider moral and ethical sense. It is, essentially, a game about a family being torn apart because of their (supposedly) privileged position in society. But there are also moments of tenderness, levity and love. A wonderful game. I’m excited for the upcoming sequel.

I was genuinely surprised by how well made this game is. The art, music, and atmosphere all work together very well to create a really enjoyable experience. That said, the illusion of choice became a bit frustrating at times. While it feels like your decisions matter in the moment, in the grand scheme of things, a lot of choices don’t seem to have as much impact as you’d expect, if any at all. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it does take away from the weight of your decisions when you realize the game is guiding you toward a set outcome regardless and take away from it’s replayability Even with that criticism, I still really loved the game and had a great time playing it. It’s unique and engaging, and I’m really excited to see what they do with the sequel and truly can’t wait to play it !
