Clunky racing game, absolutely horrible feel to the entire experience. CarX Drift was so good, it's a miracle they've fallen so far from grace.

refunded after an hour of preposterous gameplay. I have a Radeon 6700s + Ryzen 7 6800hs and I get 40-50 FPS with stutters too in the lowest possible settings at 900p AND performance mode on FSR, which looks absolutely atrocious btw. I also tried a previous version of this game (by questionable means ofc), one before they added Easy Anti Cheat and yes I can confirm the validity of the many woes in recent reviews here - the EAC update has completely wrecked this game beyond recognition and it's honestly very sad, this seems like the NFS alternative I personally have been starving for, for ages. The devs seem firm with their decision to go ahead with EAC but honestly, I am a backend web developer and not only do I think this was a major fumble, I do not agree with their excuse either - do you think NFS, Forza, ACC or any other popular racing game employs third-party kernel level anti-cheat to curtail cheaters? no, they don't, because it's overkill and the performance overhead is ridiculous for a game like this. And no, you don't need AAA money to reinforce this game's multiplayer security/integrity in-house. They could've hired me to do that instead of going to EAC. I just can't help but wonder, if not for this very unfortunate fumble, what could have been. EDIT: If any of the devs are actually reading this: stop being stubborn, remove EAC and save this game - I say this because I genuinely wish you success and I really want to see NFS, Crew and Forza have a worthy indie competitor. You can't get there if your game has a kernel level anti-cheat. No matter how much you optimise this game now, without EAC it will always 1) work on more low-end systems, 2) appeal to more people because no one likes kernel level software of any kind and 3) run with higher FPS on any given system, period.

I havent gotten super far into the game yet but I can already tell you it is better than the new Need for Speeds in every way. It reminds me of the Need for Speed Underground 2 days and it was love at first sight. The racing feels good, the cars feel good, and the customization is amazing. Buy it now.

Fun and easy to jump into and start playing. Looking forward to what the devs are cooking for us, lots of potential for the future.

Literally bought it tonight, Already have 4 hours into it as I'm writing this review (By the time anyone sees this I'll probably have way more) I absolutely love what CarX has done with this Title, Everything is 10x better then CarX Drift as amazing of a game that was, I think Im going to stay on CarX Street now, I have no idea what all these people are complaining about, The game is so fun, Definitely worth playing, Especially if you pick it up on sale like I did.

+Open World +Lots of Cars, lots of classic s-h-i-t boxes to drive +Lots of customization options, both visual and practical +Menu UI feels fluid, easy transition between places +Has that NFSU2 Vibe +Some RPG mechanics (fuel, NOS refill needed) -AI cheats with rubber-banding -Tuning upgrades not that noticeable due to opponent scaling -Lots of repeating events to grind -No damage visible on cars -Voice acting is terrible

Not one to usually leave reviews, but this one is worth it. After adding invasive anti-cheat software, ruining performance (that was never great in the first place), constantly breaking linux compatibility and ignoring community requests over and over again, I'm done. And in the end they still give us attitude, fuck off. This game has no future. Time to find something else, I suggest you do the same.

Step 1. Turn off the in game music Step 2. Open a web browser and find the NFS Undergound soundtrack Step 3. Play far enough to buy and customise your own Paul Walker inspired eclipse Step 4. Rip around town to Static X and Lil John like it's 2003.
