Fun game. Sort of a micro management sci-fi pay to play farmer. Without the actual pay to play. Late game is pretty tedious. I find myself restarting to perfect/optimize the Sector layouts in the first 3-4 Chapters. Fun to geek out on, but I still haven't actually finished the game. It reminds me a bit of Civ6 in how you lose interest late game Those first 100 turns (or the first 3-4 Chapters, in this case) are fun.

I really enjoyed this game it was a twist on colony management and is a refreshing take on this genre it has a good story and I think it is repayable. The music is really good as well. It is just so muc..("there has been an accident on the Tiqqun") GODDAMMIT!!!!!! love the game

This game was a life-changing experience for me. The hopeful messaging, the heavy-handed impact of it's narrative methods, and it's brilliant OST made by the same author of Warhammer 40K: Mechanicus' phenomenal OST make this game a brilliant addition to my collection.

It's... not great. If you want a really slow building game with some supremely annoying resource management then this is the game for you. But if you're expecting something interesting or riveting then you've come to the wrong place. Lack of content as well as interesting mechanics leaves this game to be just a slog to get through. Again, it's great if you like colony sims, except without the fun of a colony sim.

Unplayable due to resource transfer bug. I've made several attempts to play through the game and it always ends the same way, can't get alloys to the sector they're needed in, can't get food to the sector it's needed in, can't get processors to the sector they're needed in. Can't build, people starve, game over. I don't mind the resource management being hands on, but when it stops working that's essentially game-breaking, and you can have 20 or 30 hours of your time go to waste.

A chraming unique game. Can't say anything else really. Sure it's REAL hard when you play it the first time and some things were definitely cut just after about half point (especially the ending feels pretty barebones, but it's functional). It more than makes up for it with mystery and mythology motives wrapped in sci-fi goodness. Plus the music is just amazing. It's still a very unique game that I can't name any analogues in terms of overall story+gameplay - nope, it's not really "Frostpunk in space" as it was called when it released. Frostpunk is Frostpunk and Ixion is Ixion. And I love them both.

A game in the Frostpunk-like genre. Ressources are finite, time is tangible and will pressure you to move on. The visuals are great, the gameplay is smooth and it feels awesome to optimise the shit out of your station through clever building placement and sector specialisation. IXIOM wears out by Chapter 5 or even end of Chapter 4, but by that point things move fast and I didn't feel like the game overstayed its welcome. The story, while not amazing or anything, is enough to keep things moving and it is at least conceptually interesting. There are only so many ways you can tell a story in a City-Builder and this game does a decent job at it. All in all I believe IXIOM is a hidden gem that is woth the 30 Euros asking price and definitely worth it on sale. There are annoyances and especially the event system that your science ships interact with can be super vague and opaque and you often get punished for being curious, which seems counterproductive in a space game where human curiosity should be rewarded. If you liked Frostpunk and are into space then you can't really go wrong buying this game. Recommended.

This game is SO GOOD. If you like Oxygen Not Included and are also a fan of sci-fi, this game will scratch those itches real good but with a unique story and its own unique gameplay elements. It's also one of the best game soundtracks to come out in recent times. I love this game.

I really want to recommend this game, the story is great, atmosphere is amazing and it is typically a very fun game. But where it starts to break down is with the stock management or the inability to manage it really. every time on every save i have played i get the same error, Failed to transfer resources on previous cycle. this leads to me trying to make every sector do everything instead of each one specialising in something different which just isn't how the later parts are meant to go. Regardless how many stockpiles and workshops i have in each sector, be it a few of both or plenty the game starts to break down shortly afterwords where even demolition doesn't work anymore. Until i can ether find a way to fix this or at least understand why the it isn't working i just cant justify spending 50$ on it.
