A mixed bag with mostly good.
It took a while to get the hang of it but when I did it was a great but very short experience.
The game is not broken but it is much harder than it may appear.
The game has some achievements you need to grind for but they are not hard to get.
The music is not bad but sounds very uninspired and if somebody searched medieval in a soundbank.
The last critique I have is that it should be rogue-like and not a rogue-lite.
Overall a good but short and hard experience 8/10.

This is great! Its kinda like No plan B but involves barbarians killing Roman soldiers.
You should make a game like this or improve this game to have other sides and factions, random missions, a campaign/mission editor and other things just like NO PLAN B.

A very interesting approach on strategy games, with emphasis on troop positioning before the battle even begins. Little is informed about the enemy, except the possible places where they may deploy. The game allows many interesting stratagems using terrain condition, deception and troop management. The way troops can receive orders during battle is a good representation of combat conditions in the real Gallic Wars. In many occasions the game remembers closely Caesar's descriptions of some battles. Campaigns are short and guaranteed not to bore the player. Fun really improves with mastery over the mechanics.

This is very very very 'light' strategy and more like luck and timing with just a plain route system for moving troops. I absolutely hate having to guess what the enemy are going to do and once the battle begins I can't do anything but watch.

Only one campaign and no other game types!
I ran through the campaign in less than an hour. It has virtually no replay value.
If it had more game types and different troops, it could actually be great.

Great game in theory, I like the graphical style and the concept, but the campaign is incredibly unforgiving. Part of it is admittedly my own skill level but there are no difficulty options to compensate for this. Losing a single battle can easily cost you the entire campaign as it seems the only way you get troops is by winning, and those that are used in a battle but survive do not come back again until the next "row" of fights on the battle map. I could be wrong on these points and there could be something I am missing, and I will correct my review if that is the case, but I can't recommend this unless you are looking for a difficult, possibly even frustrating experience.
