Don't get me wrong, the game's terrible. Probably the worst thing you can purchase. But got me entertained none the less. For 2 hours you chill on some mining station and listen to some great music, while lazily shooting some distinctively female creatures. All while your ex screams in your ear on top of her lungs. Feels relatable, sometimes you gotta make do with what's available and enjoy the small things. Small things like this game's length. Life ain't that short, but that's how it goes.

It's a cheap Dead Space-like adventure or a "B" rated scifi movie. Maybe it's because I have not even played a lot or maybe I have a different perspective on judging games. Even on sale, this game seems off... almost like it's half-baked. There's lots and lots of spaces where audio logs, interactive items, or note/clues should be placed.
I had to refund the game... what a waist of time.

I read some negative comments after finishing the first game but I still wanted to try this.
Wow! It's incredible how bad this game is and how BROKEN it is.
I had to restart the game twice in less than an hour because I got stuck and the doors were not opening. I didn't bother to keep playing after that.
The game also feels like a step backwards instead of a step forward when compared to the original. The first game was not that good either but it's definitely superior and at least it actually tried to be scary and disturbing. But now everything is just a joke.
Now it's basically a (very bad) DOOM 3 wannabe.
The only thing I liked a bit at first was the sexy female voice, but even that voice ended up feeling annoying and repetitive pretty fast. The gameplay felt generic and boring, at least to me.
I got this game in a discount for only $3.79 but there are endless free horror games that are much better than this.
I used to have hope that a sequel could improve on the original and be a lot better, but after this I don't even care about a "Hollow 3."
They should either remake all this franchise, or create something completely new... Or, in the worst-case scenario, they should stop making games if they are not capable of developing something better (I hope that's not the case).

Atmospheric and interresting, but unfortunately this gets ruined by the annoying female voice. The dialogue is just too long. If it was shorter, I could have accepted it. And I got this on sale like 80 percent off. I would DEFINETLY not buy this when not on sale.
EDIT: The game is missing some content, either bugged or cut. There is meant to be a reaper fight where you get "catched by the reaper" but I never experienced this at all.
EDIT 2: There is a bug where you skip like over half of this game for no reason sometimes apparently.

This is basically an indie horde shooter with Dead Space's aesthetics and a mix of Doom 3's run-and-gun corridor shooter gameplay and Doom 2016's focus on arena-style combat encounters with constantly spawning in enemies.
Unlike the first Hollow, which was a sort of first-person survival horror in space type of game, Hollow 2 is more of a Doom 3 style run-and-gun shooter. There's no more searching the environment for notes, collectibles, and ammo, instead enemies drop currency which you use to buy items and ammo at checkpoints. The game has 4 weapon types, about a dozen or so different enemy types (though about 80% of them have the same basic behavior), and a few decent boss fights. With the game design changes there's no incentive to explore the environment, so progress is fairly straightforward and the game can be completed in about 2 hours, and there's even a Dead Space style GPS tracer that tells you where to go if you press the button for it.
The game feels VERY indie in terms of quality and budget, feeling similar to games like Putrefaction, Anomalous, or Kingdom of the Dead. I was actually expecting it to have been made by one or two people, at most five or six, and was surprised when the credits rolled and it seems the dev team consisted of a good 10-20 people at least. I guess they made their own assets instead of using store-bought assets, which is VERY commendable, but otherwise the large dev team size doesn't come across in terms of how the game looks and feels.
Graphics are fairly typical 8th gen Unreal Engine 4 sci-fi. Some of the post-processing effects are annoying and there's a weird distortion effect the entire game that seems to come from your character either wearing a helmet or tripping balls.
The enemies have a psychosexual thing going on, but this doesn't really play into the game's larger themes or narrative in any clever way. What I'm saying is that the monsters have very nice boobs, and as far as I can tell that's where a decent chunk of the game's budget went.
One particular thing I found cheap and annoying about the game's design is that enemies aren't placed in the level or appear through scripted events (i.e. jumping through windows or vents). Instead, they went the low-effort route of enemies constantly teleporting in less than a dozen feet away from you when you enter a combat area. This above all other game design decisions makes the game feel low budget.
The story is meaningless, if you finished the first Hollow game or pay attention to the first 5 minutes of exposition, you already know that your character is hallucinating everything and all your actions are pointless. The ending only takes this to the logical extreme, and makes the events of the entire game pointless. The fact it ends on an advertisement for Hollow 3 only makes this worse when the entirety of Hollow 2 was narratively meaningless.
With all that said, I'm giving the game a thumbs up with caveats because I really games like Doom 3, and Hollow 2 does that gameplay style competently. If you like very indie games in the Doom 3 style (i.e. if you liked games like Putrefaction) Hollow 2's not bad. If indie-budget single-player shooters aren't your thing, you might want to skip it.

Jesus, what a horrible piece of garbage. Usually I write at least something good about the game, but here there is literally nothing even remotely close to being good. I honestly don't know if this "game" was made by a sadist who wanted players to suffer or by ridiculously incompetent idiot who has no idea how to make at least competent game. There is almost 0 story. The intro and outro videos ( the only 2 videos in the game, by the way) are same as first game and, aside from them, there is nothing that can be called a "story". You just walk from one arena with enemies to another and kill them for a few minutes, that it. No, seriously, THAT'S IT, that's the whole game. The previous game was pretty mediocre, but compared to this it's a "Game Of The Year" and "10/10". I'm shocked how can you manage to fuck up from there. Atmosphere? None. Exploration? Zero. Lore? Collectibles? Gone. Even the game description from the Store page is a lie. "Run, fight, hide, explore" - that's a lie. You can't and won't hide from anyone in this game and, as I said, there is 0 exploration, just a corridor with arenas. "discover, what really happened to this place"? You won't, because there are no more notes to collect and the only character that can speak in the whole game (aside from few lines from one of the bosses) is MC's ex-wife who talks during whole game and she doesn't says anything even remotely interesting (the VA is nice though when she's not overacting). So yeah, stay the fuck away from this piece of garbage.
P.S. Yeah, and the game can be completed in 2.1 hours with 17/18 achievements. The only one I didn't do is "Die 10 times" because it's pretty difficult to do on medium difficulty.
