That out of the way, Variable is a tough learning experience as the tutorial lacks clear information through the poor English translation in conjunction with an unclear interface & guidance popups. On top of the aforementioned, the tutorial is long and quickly stops providing information. If you can get past these barriers and piece together necessary information by trial & error, the game’s elements start to shine & its vision can be seen & experienced but it remains a struggle.
In my time I was able to play a few runs but the tutorial was a majority of my time as its completion is required to move on. The tutorial requires the completion of 50 rounds. It is completely unforgiving, it is mandatory and failing at any point will place you back at square one.
Thankfully each failure & replay can be different as a result of the build a maze gameplay structure and the RNG aspect of selecting towers; albeit you are restricted to what’s available during the tutorial rather than what's available in the rest of the game. When you fail, you will also earn experience towards unlocks that you can install into your towers but in my playtime I have yet to see other offerings outside of the walls, tower & spawn placement.

At the end of the day I can see Variable’s strengths in mechanics and player choice but the lack of guidance, language barrier at launch and poor translation has caused me to not recommend the game to those who want an issue free tower defense experience.
[b]However, as I've said there is depth and fun behind the aforementioned and if you're a player that can get past said issues, I think you'll have a blast messing around with what the game offers, especially at its on sale price of $1.55AUD.[/b]
I do not recommend purchasing the title at its $15.50AUD price tag as the issues do not justify such a price.
