This is a really fun grindy little RPG game. The graphics are passable all mostly assets of Unity I would imagine. Fighting consists of left click attack and right click dodge and you learn the rhythm easily. There are multiple weapon types like bats and machetes and bows. Dodge takes twice the stamina of attack so there are times when you will just attack and take the -hp over using extra stamina. Mid fight you can hit 1 or 2 to use a hp or stamina pill. It's a game of balancing HP Stamina and Food. At first food is tough you need to kill zombies for parts to cook on your stove which also requires wood fuel. I took the perks of less food depletion and faster stamina increase and it makes the world of difference in game play. At first I was standing around waiting for stamina and hp to regen between fights and now I can mostly fight an entire level with barely any pills needed. I also eat less food now which means grinding fewer lower level mobs for parts to cook. I found wood resources to be unbalanced had to buy cheap arrows to deconstruct for wood a few times.
You get a base with a stove and chest to store things. People will join you as you progress and give side quests like find 14 parts which encourages you to grind a location for a while. You need to upgrade the base a bit to allow for more people. Each one unlocks another section of the main story.
As you level up by killing zombies nad completing quests you get stat points to spend and skill pints for special bonuses. My stat points I put into faster stamina regen and hp regen so I would need to wait around less and therefore let my food degenerate less. I also put quite a bit into loot% which gets you better loot from the zombies you kill. Some I put into attack and defense. With the skill points I bought the faster stamina regen and less hunger right away I also bought the 25% bonus to the machete which I think is the best weapon.
Crafting is decent too and no overly complicated. you can dismantle a lot of things you find for example a sweatshirt will result in 3 canvas and 1 cloth. An alarm clock will give you some metal and plastic. You have the same armor throughout but later on find the +1 +2 versions with bonus stats. You can trade for and sometimes loot stat increasing potions which have a chance to fail. It's a fun gamble to try and get that +7 item.
Overall it's a fun little weekend killer. Definitely worth the money and runs well with no bugs that I have noticed. there is a weird slowdown effect but just "hide" inside a vehicle or hit E to loot an item and it stops.

Herd Is Coming... apparently. Slowest game I have been graced with in a long time. I do honestly commend the game for the amount of stuff that is included in it, but its just way to slow to call it fun. Maybe if you have 60 cents to throw away pick it up sale? Not for me :)
Well earned 3/10

I enjoyed this 15 hour distraction. A simple game, with a simple premise. Kill zombies, help people, kill bigger zombies and win. The first hour or 2 are the hardest. Once you get hunger under control it all about staying ahead of the Attack/Defense/Hit Points curve and improving your weapons and armor.

Trying to be as constructive as possible.
Bad:
Slow.
Tedious.
Repetitive.
Boring.
Dumb name.
No animation blending; each plays slowly and sequentially with no way to cancel. God forbid you accidentally search a container twice (why can you re-search empty containers anyway?).
Good:
Competently made.
Background visuals and sound pretty good.
Didn't find any bugs nor typos (I think).
Just play something else, mate.

Zombie games are the genre that just won't die (pun intended) but I always have room for one more. I am really torn on whether to recommend this game as I think it has potential, but it is just too slow for me as a player. Literally - you move slowly, the zombies move slowly, the game play is slow, the story is slow...
But I like the idea behind the game. Gather a small group of survivors and protect them while uncovering a story spread across multiple locations. The side scroller style could be interesting, but your character moves so slowly through the environment it becomes tiresome to walk through the same environments over and over. Despite playing the game for roughly an hour, I found myself frustrated rather than intrigued to keep going in a game that most people seem to complete in 6 to 7 hours.
So why am I saying I'd recommend it? This game is for someone - it's just not me. I think that the game has character and potential and that someone out there with more patience than me will enjoy it.
I played this game as part of my Games Under $5 series and purchased it on sale for $0.49 (USD). You can see my gameplay video here: https://youtu.be/YpWuR_rQIu4.

The game does not work on my PC. The screen at the main menu is extra large and you cannot see the menu and what to press or start the game. I tried just about everything there is that i can think of to no avail. About to uninstall this game but will wait until someone can offer some type of resolution to this stinky problem.

Herd is Coming is an ugly game. Your character moves as if he's in molasses. The zombies move faster than you. NOT recommended

I enjoyed everything about this game and it was a lot of fun. There was no overkill as in too many weapons or armors to chose from. The bosses were challenging so I recommend saving your game before the fights. The quests were fun and each survivor gives new quests as you level up so you can fight close to your own level if you choose. The only thing I found to be annoying was when enhancing my armor or weapons the various enhancement chemicals would often fail and many of these chems are expensive and/or rare. That could be a bug or by design. This game was well thought out and organized. The ending leaves open the possibility of a DLC or sequel I consider to be a plus.
This is for the Devs, I had a issue getting the game to work as the menu was to large for the screen so I had to go into the winsetup file in the game folder to change the video to direct3d and res to 1920 x 1080. When getting close to the end of the game I started getting crashes every time I would pick up a certain amount of zombie extract. Below is the crash error report that also said to contact the author.
Scripting error in "GlobalScript.asc" Line 8809
Error: Character.InventoryQuantity: Invalid Quantity 32095.
I found if I transfered some zombie extract to my storage chest my game stopped crashing. I had too much zombie extract in my inventory causing the crash. Other than that I had no issues. Great game, thanks.

Hack, Slash, Shoot, Loot, Manage a few survivors, to escape the incoming ' Horde '.
Dozen of short maps to explore.
Walking simulator,
as well as all other actions in ' SLOW ' motion,
one of the SLOWest movement game ever experienced since the 80s.
Screen is so large, but the character simply lingers in the lower potion.
Shift inventory is slow from backpack to storage.
Keyboard ' X ' is a death trap for losing item on accidental pressings.
Game will bug out when carrying excess of 31K coins.
Simple to stack stats on crafted equipment for the ultimate arsenal.
Recommend to install 3rd Party tool to overwrite keyboard binds, as the default keybinds are horrible.
Game could have some potential, bare and lacking in contents.
Can't expect much, from a ' Low Priced, Low Budget, Low Quality '.
Playable with Patience.
