I've enjoyed the game because it scratches several itches that I have in regards to a game. It does have it's flaws, but so far I've enjoyed it completely. I'll list the pros and cons for anyone who is interest. Pros: 1. Lots of different party members to choose from, so regardless of the class you pick, there's a good number of them to compliment your choice. Some are tied to buildings or dungeon progression though. 2. A good variety of story and events to experience. 3. I've always enjoyed building up a town or adding buildings so I like that part, though I admit it could be a bit better. 4. There's a lot of hidden interactions between your characters and NPCs as well. 5. Able to customize your character to some extent by selecting different classes and (eating food to add to certain stats) - I chose mage for my second run through, but ate fried chicken every day(Adds 1-2 Def), which made my standard defense similar to the normal tank of the party. Mage already has magic resist skills so I felt pretty tanky there considering I only wore robes. 6. You can get other characters to marry and get together, which I like, though it can be somewhat vague how to do that sometimes. Middle of the road stuff:(Neither good nor bad for me) 1. It is very grindy, but I rather like that about a game sometimes.(You will go down the dungeon constantly for treasure. I usually stopped at a predetermined floor so the story wouldn't progress too fast) 2. It's an RPG Maker game, so that does limit it quite a bit. I can't help but think how nice this game could be if it was redone with a 3D environment and characters. 3. Mini games aren't too bad and can be used to earn some money, but money given does seem random. 4. Story progression is tied directly to what dungeon floor you are on. This allows you to stall the main story for a bit while you finish any side quests or earn money to build buildings for the town. 5. It seems the main antagonist(Grant) has a harem but, you don't get luxury. I don't mind that too much, to be honest. Cons: 1. Portraits, images of characters can vary greatly in detail. Usually you see this great image of a character and then you do an even with them and this very low end version of them shows up instead of the usual one you see of the character. The portrait almost never looks like that image either. Not horrible, but stands out a bit. 2. Relationships are a bit odd at times. I tried a rogue play through the first time and ended up dating Mai, though I don't recall saying I wanted to. By eating each of her foods and doing this quest to eat cake with her, you just start dating. 3. There is a steam guide that helps a bit, but it doesn't have everything in it, so there are a lot of things that I'm unsure of. 4. I got Rudy with the dancer during my rogue play through at one of the Pubs, only to find out that doing that blocks him from his most power class later. So some choices can be painful if you aren't careful, or don't know the outcome beforehand. 5. Some events can be completely missed if you progress too fast down the dungeon. 6. Don't know if this was just me or not, but the after battle, exp and jp points display were really wonky and slow, considering my computer is very decked out. I found if I minimized the window for a second and popped it back up, then the points usually finished instantly and I could click to the next screen(most of the time). Was really annoying, but I fought through it. So, in the end, I thought the good outweighed the bad. I got more than enough hours out of the discounted price I paid, so I'm happy.
