Fated Word: Damnation Yeah, experimenting with game features is very good. Like having fresh air to breathe. I liked that sometimes we have to think twice before asking a question to prevent the answers to repeat each other. And the playthrough time seems to be really shortened, haha. But it tells a fascinating story though. But still, Markus didn't impact me so much as you can see.
Markus is just a little offended boy who just wants his uncle to suffer because he became so famous. He envies his uncle and is determined to become better just because he wants to be "better" than him. Poor boy, he even got used to some suspicious substances. I think he fell too deep in his sorrow. He cannot let go his past and accept the present. Also he's, like, trying to run the business but... ugh... He just satisfies people's dark desires. Yeah, he makes cure potions too but still, he is not picky to take any job it seems. Still wondering if he's a good salesman, whu doesn't he have more custumers. Maybe it has to do something with his reputations. Also he seems to be not as talented as he might think. So many years of doing alchemy and almost no progress... I think he should have reconsidered why exactly his uncle is more successful than he is, shouldn't he? He "wants" to be greater and help more but I think it's just empty words. I think in some answers he was a bit too confident and didn't answer in true honesty or consideration. I'm not saying he's a bad person after all, but he's traumatized and is not able to achieve what he "desires" out of his revenge mission. He got lost being in the situation. It makes us understand that he has feelings too etc but... we all have to move forward. Father was a great figure to him and he couldn't get over it. He doesn't have any friends even after his childhood. Not a single one. He's in a quite big amount of misfortunes but it didn't make him stronger. And I don't think he will succeed even with our help.
Well, that's why I decided to cast a grim fate upon him. Maybe THIS could show him something, teach him at least. But I was disappointed by Markus in the end. He just gave up. Maybe that's why he didn't succeed: he didn't have a proper motivation. Maybe he didn't truly wanted to be THAT successful as he used to think. And after that I tried a new run, choosing everytime an alternate question for Markus. And my impression didn't change a bit. He cannot see himself that he's broken and a bit twisted, got confused in life. Well, fortunate fate didn't impressed me either.
A right client in a right time in a right place. And some other random fortunate circumstances helped him, it wasn't his "true genius" trait. (By the way "Tear of Markus" sounded as a good name for a cure potion. I did smile when got to read this name) And then he became "the Greatest" just because he happened to save some royal. And after that, no great things were made (alright, he made another potion but how useful is it?)
That was a good experience though. Keep this up! You're a rare gem here.
