....Edit: After playing this game for longer than I've played Valheim (I am dead serious btw), I can freely say that I enjoy it. It's calm, and beautiful. The game has Photo Mode as a built-in feature, and when you DO find it, the game turns into a photographer simulator, because this game's procedural gnerator creates such beautiful-looking landscapes and... uhh.... there is also a big volcano-like mountain in the middle. The game's lore implies that there's something important about that mountain, and the best part is that you can find out what. Now, moving onto the game's *feel*: I'll never forget that feeling, when I first came into The Mines (And yes, this game has a mining/digging mechanics, more on that later.), and I suddenly heard footsteps that definitely were NOT mine.... still send shivers down my spine, although there won't be anything scary about that when you've discover what's making them. The Mechanics: We have: -Basic farming systems, yet very advanced seasons and weather systems (some crops require you to plant them at a specific season, weather makes changes on the plant's "hydration", etc.) - Generic building system (yet interesting mechanics attached to it, such as: your bed needs to be under the roof to be usable, your spawnpoint is set inside your house, and basically half of the point in the game is focused on building the houses. Also NPCs require them, more on that later) - Digging/Mining system. Here I was impressed, when shovel actually did something and moved the landscape, allowing me to terraform and dig holes/trenches. Mining system is basic (you just click on the mineral using your pickaxe), but it works. - NPCs. They gave me Skyrim vibes (Maybe that's because I've watched devlogs where the dev explained that he was inspired by NPC systems from that game), especially when the first Settler I've invited to my "village" was sitting on his bed, and he had to stand up and turn towards me just to start the dialog. They are very interesting to spy on, though: He usually sits on his bed, then he decides to take a walk around the house, then (if he has any) he can sit on a chair, walk around again, go into the forest, go away for a month... But that's because of his Job. Yes, they have jobs. A traider will surely walk around more, because he needs to find something to trade, and a Smith for example, will most of the time spending, well, smithing stuff to later sell to you, ect. - Weather. I was suprised when after almost 18 days of sun, a storm came by. Not only that, but the NPC who had to arrive on the next day, reacted to it, saying something along the lines of "that was a horrible storm yesterday". I haven't gotten to Winter yet, but I'm sure that at least those storms will become more frequent (the game's still in the beta stage, need to know it's limits). That's almost all I can say, another thing is that I was not able to test multiplayer yet, but I'll do it someday this year. Thank you, Josephus, for keeping up the passion. Hope that the game will get more popular.
