Sanity isn't the only thing that has depth in this game. Both characters and storyline were the best of any games I played this year, what is a pretty big praise coming from a lore-oriented player like me.
And the horror stuff... I felt more "horrified" playing this game than when I played Outlast II, and many other horror games. It isn't about jump scares or ugly and fearsome things on the screen, it's all about ambience and "that feeling of opression, mistery and a hand that pulls you back to your surroundings". I never felt like leaving the game, or stopping, or looking back. I was hooked.
