Recensioni di Oakwood Academy of Spells and Sorcery

Ho trovato questa visual novel molto piacevole da giocare, rispetto ad altre del suo genere, dato che i testi sono semplici e riassuntivi, senza giri di parole, ma al tempo stesso, spesso o sempre simpatici e capaci di strappare almeno un sorriso, inoltre lo stile di disegno è curato e amabile, anche grazie ai colori caldi e spicca come prima cosa quando si trova il gioco su Steam. La storia ripercorre semplicemente le vicende scolastiche di uno studente all'interno dell'Oakwood Academy, trama molto semplice ma divertente e piacevole da vivere. Le musiche di sottofondo durano poco e vanno spesso in loop, cosa che non è necessariamente un difetto, dato che sono molto piacevoli da ascoltare e che la storia è molto immersiva e quindi è un aspetto che può passare in sordina, però è una cosa che è facile che venga notata. Se dovessi ivece trovare qualche difetto nel gioco, sarebbe qualcosa di tecnico, dato che non è possibile rinominare e cancellare i salvataggi, cosa molto comune in molte visual novel, ma che sarebbe stata molto utile in questa, dato che è molto facile capire e gestire le route gestendo i salvataggi, ma si rischia spesso di confondersi dato che non si può rinominarli, tuttavia, un difetto più grande, è la mancanza della galleria che mostra le cg conquistate andando avanti nella storia, dato che è una funzione molto carina, presente in molte visual novel, che permette al giocatore di ricordare i momenti di gloria e di controllare il tasso di completamento del gioco, nel caso una persona volesse ottenere tutti i diciasette finali. Infine, parlando dei finali, mi è venuto in mente che il gioco non presenta la funzione degli achievement e delle figurine di Steam, funzioni che avrebbero potuto rappresentare la metaforica ciliegina sulla torta, dato che è veramente un bel gioco, anche per me, che rappresento il classico pubblico che non è fan sfegatato di questo genere di giochi. Italian: Che dire... se non che sono rimasto piacevolmente sorpreso da questa novel? Ciò che mi ha attratto maggiormente sin da subito è stato sicuramente il design grafico dei personaggi, delle "eroine" principali con le quali potevi avere a che fare fino alla fine, ottenendo così un "Good Ending". Essendo abituato di più al design "Anime" che le novel offrono al giorno d'oggi, trovare questa ventata d'aria fresca proveniente da un gruppo amatoriale inglese è stato un fulmine a ciel sereno. Ma. E c'è sempre un ma in ogni prodotto che si rispetti, se da una parte la parte grafica ha dato il meglio di se (anche i background in cui le scene si svolgevano), dall'altra ho trovato la storia.. decisamente povera di contenuti e abbastanza "deboluccia". Indubbiamente questo è il primo lavoro che questo gruppo ha portato a termine e dunque già di per se dovrebbe essere abbastanza, ma se non fosse stato per i chiari riferimenti al mondo di Harry Potter, dubito che sarei riuscito a godermela appieno; il comparto audio.. non è stato proprio dei migliori. Ma tuttavia non è stato neanche dei peggiori e tutto sommato, ogni piccola musica era quasi sempre azzeccata in base ai vari momenti presentati. Nel complesso? Pro: - Ottimo comparto grafico. Le quattro ragazze principali sono veramente bellissime e anche quelle che fungono semplicemente da NPC fanno la loro sporca figura - e si, parlo anche degli uomini/ragazzi. Anche loro sono stati fatti molto bene. Tranne Peter. Peter lo odio a prescindere. - Ovviamente il fatto di aver avuto modo di scaricare la relativa patch +18... Contro: -..la quale tuttavia, non ha fornito ciò che speravo. Di nuovo, è il loro primo lavoro, sicuramente, ma avere solamente una CG per le quattro route più una per l'unica speciale, è stato un po' deludente. - Parlando proprio dello "Special Ending" probabilmente me ne sarei aspettato più di uno, ma in fondo se ci si pensa attentamente a parte le due "adulte" (e non faccio alcun spoiler in merito), non poteva esserci molta scelta. - Un'altra cosa riguardo i possibili finali, è il fatto che la maggior parte dei "cattivi" erano solo.. cattivi, letteralmente. Voglio dire, tanti finali del genere con la possibilità di tradire la propria ragazza, ma alla fin fine non sono stati così tanto soddisfacenti. Non c'è due senza tre, come diciamo noi, ma probabilmente avrei preferito maggiormente altri finali invece dei numerosi "Bad" messi a destra e a sinistra. Non so.. magari un altro "Special Ending" oppure qualche altro finale con protagoniste Izumi & Kim, Amaya & Elsa o magari anche uno "Harem"! Perché dopotutto non è irragionevole pensarlo, giusto? - Comparto sonoro. Nonostante come detto la maggior parte di esse possano essere state scelte per ogni determinata occasione, anche esse sono state un po'.. debolucce. - La storia. Sempre come detto sopra, se non fosse stato per il fatto che ho amato (e che amo ancora ovviamente) il mondo di Harry Potter, probabilmente non avrei trovato molto interessante questa novel. ------------ English: What can I say.. other than the fact that I was pleasantly surprised by this novel? What attracted me most immediately, was definitely the graphic design of the characters, the main "heroines" with whom you can have a story 'till the end of course, thus obtaining the "Good Endings". Being more accustomed to the "Anime" design that the novels offers nowadays, finding this "breath of fresh air" from an English amateur group was a bolt from the blue. But. And there's always a but in every product, if on one hand the graphic part has given its best (even the backgrounds in which the scenes took place), on the other I found the story.. definitely lacking of contents and quite "weak". Undoubtedly this is the first work that this group has completed and therefore already in itself should be enough, but If I hadn't been for the clear references to the world of Harry Potter, I doubt that I could've fully enjoyed it; the audio also.. was not really the best. But yet it wasn't even the worst and all in all, every little music was almost always appropriate based on the various moments. Overall? Pro: - Excellent graphic. The four main girls are really beautiful and even those that simply act as NPC's make their "dirty figure" - and yes, I also talk about men/boys. They too have been very well done. Except for Peter. I hate Peter regardless. - Obliviously the fact of having to download the relative +18 patch.. Cons: - ..which however, didn't provide what I hoped. Again, it's their first novel of course, but having only one CG for the four routes plus one for the special one, it was a bit disappointing. - Speaking of the "Special Ending" probably I would've expected more than one, but basically if you think carefully aparte from the two "adults" (and I'll not make any spoilers about it), there couldn't have been much choice. - Another things about the endings, is the fact that most of the "Bad one's" were just... bad. I mean, so many "Bad endings" here and there with the thoughs of cheating, but they weren't much satisfying. Third time is a charm like many says, I would've probably loved some other "Special Endings".. or maybe some other "Endings" like Izumi & Kim, or Amaya & Elsa.. or maybe even an "Harem" one because It's not unreasonable to think after all. - Sound. Despite the fact that most of them like I said may have been chosen correctly for any given occasion, they too were.. a bit weak. - Story. Will not say again why, just read above.
